Ballou SPED Bulletin Updates
- Present Levels of Performance: Ensure that you are using current data (attendance record, report cards, progress reports, WJIV assessment, teacher narratives (send these to the teacher to fill out), MAP Assessment, SRI Data) in this section of the IEP. Any data that you may need, please send a request via email to Ms. Brown and Ms. Kabia
- LRE (Least Restricted Environment- Ensure that you are checking the bubble for the correct percentage of time the student is receiving sped services.
- Check-In with General Ed Teachers- to check the progress of students on your caseload
- Social Workers- Ensure that you are collaborating with Social Workers or other Related Service Providers with students on your caseload that are receiving services. Also, ensure that all students on your caseload are assigned to a service provider (only if needed). We need "all eyes" on this to ensure that all students are receiving the services according to their IEP's
- Accommodations & Modification- You all were provided with an Accommodations & Modification Tracker on 11/17. Please keep a running record of what is being provided in regards to the accommodations &modifications
- Student Schedules: Please check students on your caseload schedules to ensure that their schedules coincide with their special instruction hours. If you need any assistance with this please see me.
- IEP Meetings: please remember to upload all necessary documents after the meeting. Such as IEP meeting notes, IEP signature page, Procedural Safeguard receipt, Medicaid Worksheet, Woodcock-Johnson IV data
- Medicaid Forms- if you have a student on your caseload that has outstanding Medicaid forms, please get those signed and uploaded in SEDS as soon as possible.
General Education Teachers
- Please ensure that you are providing Sped students in your classes the accommodations & modifications that is allotted to them. According to the IEP's of our Sped students, the common accommodations for the classrooms and testing for our Sped students: Frequent breaks, use of a calculator, extended time on assessments or assignments. If you have concerns about a sped student in your classes, please feel free to reach out to me or the Case Manager of that student.
- Please ensure that you are completing the Teacher Narratives and sending them to the Case Managers via email.
- Please let me know if you are in need of assistance in regards to a Sped student.
