Message From The Principal
Hornet Families,
Only 1 more week left of summer! This week we welcomed our teachers and staff to the 2022-23 school year! Our staff have been working diligently this week to prepare for this upcoming year! Our phrase for the year is "Invest in the N.E.S.T", meaning we are going to invest in our students, school, and community through nurture, expectations, support, and trust. Open House will be held this week on Thursday, August 25th at 2 separate times 11-1 and 4-6. We look forward to seeing you at our open house event! Please read through the updates below and if you have any questions, please contact me using my information at the bottom of this newsletter.
Thank you for your support,
Allen M. Wilson
Principal

The Nash County Public School district student/parent handbook is now available for you to review. All parents will receive acknowledgement forms on the first day of school that have to be signed and returned. Click here to review handbook.
Safety Survey
During the first week of school, your student will be taking a two minute survey in class. Bailey Elementary T-Shirt Sale
1st Day of School - August 29th
The first day of school is Monday, August 29th. For this day only, we will allow parents to walk their child to their classroom doors starting at 7:30 and ending at 7:55. Parents we ask that you do not enter the classroom. (We will allow Pre-K and Kindergarten staggered start parents to do this on their child's first day, if it is different from above)
Pre-K and Kindergarten Staggered Start
All Pre-K and Kindergarten students will have a staggered start. One-third of the class comes on the first day to interact for the first time with their teacher and learn the daily routine, one-third comes on the second day, and one-third comes on the third day. On the fourth, all students begin coming to school together. If your child in enrolled in Pre-K or Kindergarten, you will receive contact from your child's teacher on when their first day will be or find this information out at open house.
