Students of the Week
Aliezah Robinson is our Reading Star of the Week: "Aliezah has had a great first week back! She always has a smile on her face, and puts her best effort in to all of her work! Way to go!" -Mrs. Mohler
Important Dates and Upcoming Events
January 21st- No School
February 7th- Progress Reports
February 8th- Parent Teacher Conferences (no school for students)
February 15th- Club Day
February 28th-Yearbook order deadline (forms are coming home today)
Literacy
*Students will receive new spelling words on Monday January 14th. Their test will be Thursday January 24th.
*Students need to choose a new book to complete for their nine week book project. We've discussed that it should be something that they have not already read.
*Nine week book project will be due March 13th.
Social Studies-Mohler Homeroom
We will discuss the following:
-Homestead Act of 1862
-Transcontinental Railroad
-Native Americans
Math
Students will also have a quiz on Thursday, January 17th over division with fractions.
Spiral Review quiz will be on Friday, January 18th. Students will be able to take their spiral review home on Thursday night in order to study.
Looking ahead... The unit 7 test will be on Tuesday, January 22nd.
Science- Reeves Homeroom
Students will be using a virtual lab about frogs and changing different traits they have in order to see how well they will survive and reproduce with those certain traits in their habitat.
Test on Friday, January 18th covering heredity, characteristics that result from an interaction with the environment, and how certain variations of traits provide advantages to species in order to survive and reproduce. Students will be able to take classwork home and use the Discovery Ed Techbook in order to study.
