CNUSD Meal Program - Lunch served at VanderMolen from 11:30-1:30 beginning Tuesday! See below for more information!
Beginning Tuesday, August 11th, Curbside Grab & Go meals will take place at most CNUSD school sites, on the first day of each week. Students will receive breakfast and lunch for each school day.
Please note: Meals are no longer free for all students, and students will be charged the free or paid price depending on their eligibility for the school meal program. Students do not need to be present, but parents and/or students are required to provide valid CNUSD pin numbers for all meals, just as we do during the typical school year. Need a device?
How can my child receive a device and/or wifi for Remote Learning?
We want to ensure our students are prepared for Remote Learning in terms of digital devices. In preparation for this format of teaching and learning we have created a survey that is available in Parent Connect.
If you are in need of a Chromebook and/or Wifi Hotspot, please go into Parent Connect and complete the survey for each of your students as to their needs. Please see directions here on how to access the survey.
A message from our AMAZING PTA
Moving forward, it’s going to look different for the upcoming school year. We have to be mindful and sensitive to our families, and their financial hardships due to Covid. Therefore, we will not be having any major events or fundraisers this year. This includes APEX, Fall Festival, Imagination Machine, Family Prom, etc. We will, however, have passive fundraisers such as eating out at restaurants at various times throughout the year. This will be a “recovery year” for our families. Our goal as the PTA is to advocate for them and give back to the community as best as we can while providing support from a distance.
The new changes for the year also means new members. I am pleased to announce our board members for 2020-2021. They are:
President - Jennifer Castro
Vice President - Patty Franco
Treasurer - Brandee Hardister
Secretary - Brittany Konopacki
Advocacy - Jesse Sandoval
VP of Programs - Lucy Razo
Historian - Gina Thumar
Auditor - Michelle Gardner and Lisa Foster
Parent Engagement - Tiffany Boyse
Spirit Wear - Jackie Shires
Means and Ways - Blake and Meghan Lemke
I leave you with our last event of the year, our first VanderMolen’s Virtual Variety Show. I am extremely proud of how our students shared their talent in different ways. Please take the time to watch our little heroes perform and share the link! Enjoy!
WAY TO GO PTA!
The PTA Council hosts a Founder’s Day luncheon every year. Unfortunately, due to the virus, we couldn’t celebrate our PTA’s together. There was a virtual awards presented And we received a Merit award for advocacy. They also hosted the first Parent Engagement Contest. The contest was based on PTA’s advocacy efforts, originality, building community outcome, and overall programs and activities. VanderMolen came in first place!!!! So, the PTA will receive $250 and a trophy to showcase our efforts.
