School-Wide Updates
Homeschool Day At Legoland!
Inspire students can join the Homeschool Day and visit LEGOLAND California and the Sea Life Aquarium on October 1. Sign on to https://www.icsinspirationstation.net/#/fieldtrips/3to use enrichment funds for $33 tickets prior to the September 30th deadline.
Learning is fun at LEGOLAND. Check out these downloadable educational resources for self-guided discovery throughout the park at LEGOLAND.com/edu.
On this day only, LEGOLAND is reserving Imagination Zone classrooms for Inspire students to engage in Our Blue Dot -- a Global Climate Action Summit affiliate event which Inspire co-sponsored. Our Blue Dot is a global celebration of creativity and critical thinking based on the book The Dot. Students will be part of a Top Secret Mission to think about the most important Dot of all…Earth. Your assignment: Imagine it’s the year 2050, what will earth be like? Engineer Your Story—Write it. Draw it. Make it. Share it. This is an optional educational opportunity to join this special educational offering.
Enrichment Updates
Great news! After lots of conversation with Pearson Learning Group, we should now be able to purchase digital materials. Please feel free to approve those orders!
Service waivers, which oftentimes parents have forgotten to submit to the school, can now be entered online in the EOS! Because parents need to electronically sign the waivers, the first time that families request new vendor’s services, they must be the ones to enter the order requests (not Enrichment staff or HSTs).
Tips:
If parents have forgotten their EOS passwords, please ask them to log out and reset their passwords.
If they report issues with screens freezing, please ask them to clear the cache on their computers.
Please reach out to Enrichment with any concerns or questions!
Please remind families to search first for Approved Vendors when entering product requests. This is greatly appreciated!
Online Subscription Package
Everyone who who opted in on/before 9/4 for the OSP should have received their subscription login information to the email address designated when they opted-in. Please make sure the family checks their spam folder if they haven’t received their subscription access before contacting osp@inspireschools.org
BrainPOP and Flocabulary - Regrettably, all accounts, including teacher accounts had to be removed from BrainPOP and Flocabulary in order to implement the new subscriptions for this year’s OSP.
Please note, HSTs will no longer have access to any of the subscriptions this year; subscriptions are only available for student accounts.
Families may continue to opt-in through 12/31/18 and will receive their subscription access within 5-8 business days of submitting their opt-in preferences.
Sibling Fund transfer and and Funds Discrepancies
Families and HSTs may now submit fund transfer requests directly in the EOS (there’s a small money icon under the Actions column next to the sibling details within the student details page)
Please use the Fund Discrepancies & Audit Requests to submit all audit requests and Instructional Fund related discrepancies
Questions? Please contact enrichmentaudits@inspireschools.org

School Accountability
Attendance LP1:
Attendance is due next Friday! Please make sure your families are submitting attendance logs starting on September 14th. Parents will need to make sure they sign and date either on September 14th or after, but not before. For updates on how to claim attendance once logs are submitted, please refer to the HST 2.7.

Testing and Assesment
New students will show up on your STAR 360 roster within 24-48 hours of showing up on your Pathways roster. Please continue to send STAR 360 login info to newly enrolled students. Assessments should be completed within two weeks of start date. You will need to prepare all new student accounts in Star 360 before sending login information. See handbook section 11.1, step 2 under “Implementation” for details.
If you have a family who would like a Star 360 test reset in order to retake it, please reach out to testing@inspireschools.org with the following information ::
Student name
Grade
Scope
assessment name you would like reset
Resetting a Star 360 Test is only necessary when they scored well above or below their actual level in that subject.
SPED
i-Ready Kicked-Off this week.
Special Education teachers have received information on how to request an account.
Additional training will be provided to special education teachers.
Adult transition program is in full-swing and links will be provided to the Inspire website soon. There will be lots of additional resources.
A Parent Outreach website is being constructed and will be launched soon.
We are finding there is some confusion over how SPED services will be provided with Inspire. Please be mindful that students will typically start their Specialized Academic Instruction virtually. Since we are a virtual platform Inspire SPED Team has developed this statement to use when communicating with current or prospective parents:
To assess student’s needs in the virtual setting, Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI) will initially be provided virtually and if necessary, reassess to its effectiveness based on student’s need
