The Final Countdown...2022
Happy December Spartan Families:
It is hard to believe we are into the final weeks of 2022. Below, our calendar has been updated with a quick look at the end of 2022 and the start of the New Year.
We kicked off the week with a special assembly from Jim "Basketball" Jones. Jim brought a moving personal story about overcoming adversity after being diagnosed with dyslexia. With a mix of basketball spinning, fancy dribbling and a ton of dancing, he poured out the fun and encouraged everyone to find comfort in being themselves, always be willing to try (and fail), treat others with empathy and respect and to never give up. Check out our video below for a sneak peek at some of the fun.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Don't forget to check out our 109 Gives Back Holiday Gift Drive if you can help us help families in need this holiday season.

DoorDash & Other Food Deliveries
We have noticed an uptick in lunch delivery orders for students. While we understand that circumstances occasionally necessitate a last minute lunch delivery, we kindly ask that you make every effort to avoid scheduling lunch delivers to Shepard. In the event you do need to use a service to deliver a lunch, we ask that you contact our office to alert us to the delivery. Out of an abundance of caution, for safety reasons, we do not want students meeting drivers at the main entrance to collect their food.

Is your child symptomatic for COVID?
As a reminder; if your child is presenting with COVID-19 symptoms, we will be continuing to accept home test results via our website. Here is the link to submit your child’s home test results (please select your child’s school from the drop down menu). If you have any questions or concerns about your ability to access home tests during the school year please reach out to Joanna Ford at jford@dps109.org.
