Domestic Violence in Relationships
THE FACTS
1 in every 4 women will experience abuse in her life.
Women who are abused are mentally scarred and have to be checked into special care facilities.
If you or anyone you know is being abused, get help now.
Abuse in a relationship or by an intimate parter can cause long term emotional scarring.
You can help with domestic violence in many ways, but the biggest way to speak out against it is to donate to local women's shelters. Every dollar counts. Donations can help provide food, bedding, clothing, activities, water, therapy, and medicine for the people living in these shelters.

Women who are abused are put down constantly and do not get a say in anything, including what they may be ordering for dinner that night or what they want to wear.
By making women's shelters a happy and safe place for women to recover, you can also help them understand that what happened to them is not their fault.
Statistics show that all women that have been abused are embarrassed by the power their partner has over them, and often cover any bruises/cuts up with makeup to prevent interrogation from other family members and friends.
Why is the abuse of women so important?
As the world's population grows larger, so does the number of relationships. Imagine being a girl and having to grow up in fear of a man hurting you, never knowing when he would strike next. As the number of men put in jail for abuse increases, so does the number of women put into protection homes. They had to live their lives in fear because they didn't have anyone to reach out too, and they didn't have any way to spread the word about domestic violence. We need to be the voice for women who are afraid to speak up.
