Celebrate BJHS
April
What's Happening at BJHS?
Now You See Me, Now You Don't
Mrs. Kaufman's 8th grade science students recently put their knowledge of camouflage into action. Their task was to create and color a paper butterfly so that it could be hidden around the classroom and blend in with its surroundings. After the butterflies were carefully camouflaged and placed around the room, Mrs. Kinne stopped by before school to see just how many butterflies she could find. She found quite a few! However, a few butterflies were camouflaged so well that they couldn't be found, and those students received extra credit on their test! Great job 8th graders!
Appreciation Week
This past week, BJHS celebrated Paraprofessional, Librarian, and Assistant Principal Appreciation Week. We are so grateful to have these amazing ladies helping us "Build Better Cougars" at BJHS!
A Night to Remember
BJHS 8th graders got all dressed up and danced the night away at 8th grade prom this past Saturday evening. Everyone looked fabulous! Saul Gomez and Kaylee Brooks were selected by their classmates as Prom King and Queen. Congratulations Saul and KK!
Window Makeover
Several windows at BJHS recently got a fresh look with spirit-themed screen printed coverings. Thank you Buna ISD for keeping our school looking its best!
Athletics
Our BJHS Cougars and Lady Cougars had a strong finish to the 2022 track season. They really showed out at the district track meet in Woodville on March 28th!
March Spotlights
Staff Shout-Out
This month, BJHS is shouting-out Coach Sherri Hickerson! Coach Hickerson coaches P.E. and girls' athletics. She is a phenomenal coach on and off the court, always working to instill lifelong skills and values in her athletes. You can always find Sherri with a smile on her face and encouraging words for her colleagues. She is a positive ray of sunshine on our campus, and we appreciate everything that she does to make BJHS such an amazing place!
Coach Hickerson will be treated to her choice of lunch from Fausto's or Anita's and will display "Flash" the Super Cougar in her office all month.
