Andrew Walker, Physical Therapist
President and Owner- PhysioWorks, Sports and Wellness, Inc.
Andrew Walker has been a physical therapist for 14 years. He has practiced in both the UK and USA, and worked with athletes of all levels from high school and collegiate to professionals. Andrew had become increasingly concerned about a growing trend of youth sports injuries and that very little was being done to address it. He saw that there was little education being offered on this topic and there were no athletic focused physical therapy clinics in the area. In response, he opened PhysioWorks, Sports and Wellness, Inc. two years ago and became an affiliate of the nation Stop Sports Injuries Campaign. PhysioWorks goal is to help reduce the injury risk, improve performance, and better rehabilitate local athletes. To help achieve this goal they have become the only clinic in North Alabama to offer video biomechanical analysis for running and jumping. They have also partnered with former athletes, sports physicians, and other health professionals to bring education to the local community. Below are two video stories of athletes who have been successful using video analysis, and a video of Andrew interviewing former Sparkman and pro basketball player, G.W. Boon, at an injury prevention seminar PhysioWorks organized:
