Principal's Message
It is so good to be back after Spring Break. I can tell that the time off was good for both students and staff. Everyone seems refreshed and ready to take on these last 6.5 weeks of school. Hopefully this energy will last for awhile.
I don't know about you, but I am always looking for new ways to understand my kids better. Sometimes the daily question, "how was your day", doesn't give me much response beyond, "good" or "it was fine". Below are some questions you can use if you need help to get your kids talking.
11 Questions Every Parent Should Ask
Questions that get kids talking
I am especially fond of questions that help our kids think through how to handle conflict or that encourage kindness and compassion toward others. Our kids need us to model these things for them and to guide them when they deal with challenging situations. Setting regular time to talk with your kids gives them regular opportunities to open up and to learn from you.
All the best,
Stephanie Haga

Please complete one survey for each school in which you have a child enrolled. The survey will be open from Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 22.
The survey is available in the following languages:

Grades 3-5 Georgia Milestones Parent Resources
Please see the attached file that includes resources for parents for the upcoming Georgia Milestones. Please note, these study resource guides are lengthy and include example items for selected, constructed and extended response. We find that the areas students find most challenging are constructed and extended response. Many students struggle to read the prompt correctly, while others may not give enough evidence and details to support their answers. We suggest using these guides as well as the scoring sampler to practice those constructed and extended responses.
SAVE THE DATES: Georgia Milestones Assessment for Grades 3, 4, and 5
Georgia Milestones testing begins Monday, April 25. It is crucial that your child is in class to take the exam. The district expects all students in grades 3-8 and those in a high school end-of-year (EOC) course to participate. Thank you for partnering with the district to ensure a high rate of student participation.
