PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Spring is here!!! The 3rd marking period is wrapping up and we are about to begin Pride Week 2017. The student body will be fully engaged in this annual building wide event as the classes battle to see who has the most school spirit. This is always an exciting time of year for our students and staff, so please encourage your son/daughter to get involved.
Due to the late winter weather, please review the district calendar on our web page. The 3rd marking period will now end on April 10th. The end of the school year and graduation has been adjusted, so please plan accordingly.
April will bring several events and activities to the Medford campus as we head into spring. As always, review the Medford campus calendar on our main page to see a complete list.

The Vo-Tag induction ceremony will be held the night of April 27th.

But wait...there's more! RCBC Visits, Sports Awards, Senior Awards, Student Council Awards, Prom, the Senior Class Trip to Orlando and of course, Graduation are all coming up real soon!
This would be the time of year for you to fully take advantage of what BCIT Medford has to offer. Take Pride in yourself and keep those points down! There is truly nothing more heartbreaking to us as your mentors and peers, to have to tell a young person they must sit out of some of these fun-filled events.
Course Selections
Course selections for the 2017-18 school year will take place during the month of April. Please review your son or daughter’s courses for next year and contact their counselor with any questions. In most situations, counselors suggest that students go for the challenge, but do not overwhelm themselves to the point where coursework suffers, and they are unable to maintain satisfactory grades. So, plan ahead. When it comes to academics, create a tentative sequence of courses that will develop in scope and depth over one's time in high school. At the same time, determine whether the schedule of courses for the coming school year considers all the different expectations of time; including class and co‐curricular demands, voluntary service, sports and work expectations.
FAFSA
In order to apply for financial aid, most colleges and universities require the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) which should be submitted as soon after January 1, 2017 as possible. Since each college has a different deadline for financial aid, you are encouraged to submit our form online for more rapid response. If you do not have all your information available, you can estimate your income based on last year’s figures and update your submission when the form is returned to you for verification. The website is https://fafsa.ed.gov/.
