Mary's Mount Primary School

Term 2, Week 6 - 1 June 2022

National Sorry Day Prayer

Almighty and loving God,

you who created ALL people in your image,

Lead us to seek your compassion as we listen to the stories of our past. You gave your only Son, Jesus, who died and rose again so that sins will be forgiven.

We place before you the pain and anguish of dispossession of land, language, lore, culture and family kinship that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have experienced. We live in faith that all people will rise from the depths of despair and hopelessness. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families have endured the pain and loss of loved ones, through the separation of children from their families.

We are sorry and ask God’s forgiveness.

Touch the hearts of the broken, homeless and inflicted and heal their spirits. In your mercy and compassion walk with us as we continue our journey of healing to create a future that is just and equitable.

Lord, you are our hope. Amen.

Dear Parents and Carers

The children participated delightfully and shared their gorgeous smiles with the photographers. The feedback from MSP was that the children were respectful and a delight.

You will be aware that the first shipment of culottes has arrived. The girls wearing them have reported that they feel comfortable and happy hanging from the monkey bars and doing cartwheels on the oval. They look fabulous teamed with the school jumper and the Year 6 leavers jacket.

If you have any feedback regarding the culottes, please email me.

This is the time to share as we are in communication with the uniform company to refine the product they supply to us.

Enjoy special family time over this extended weekend. The staff will be learning together over the next two days. I will be providing you with an insight into our retreat in next week's newsletter.

God Bless.

Marys Mount P&F Honey Drive!

Thanks to the Bellingeri Family, we will be selling local, all natural, Jarrah blend honey for $20 a kilo. We are also asking students to have a go at designing the label, there will be a competition running for all students to submit ‘bee-autiful’ creations. The lucky winner will have their design printed and used as the honey pot label.

Please refer to the competition design guidelines which has been sent home with students. Spare forms are available from the school office if required.

Honey will be available for purchase via the Quickcliq event page and will also available to purchase from the school (dates and times will be advised closer to the time). Honey will be distributed after the label competition closes on Tuesday 7 June.

So let’s create a ‘buzz’ and get some yummy honey into everyone’s tummies! All funds raised will go towards a new Marys Mount branded marquee and 4 x new faction marquees - just in time for the upcoming school sports carnival next term.
