Abraham Lincoln
Mary Todd Lincoln
Before Becoming President
Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809. Before he became president , Abraham worked on a farm in New Salem, Illinois Abraham married Mary Todd. They had four boys and only one made it to maturity. Abraham ran for for Senator in 1858 and lost to Stephen Douglas. Through the debating with Stephen he won the Republic nomination for President in 1860.
During Presidential Reign
One important event during Abraham's reign as President was that he freed slaves within Confederacy. He never let anybody forget what the Civil War was really about by his speech during the dedication of the military cemetery at Gettysburg. In his re-election he asked the Southerners to join in the reunion of the war.

Sad News
Abraham did not live on after his elections. On Friday, April 14, 1865 he got assassinated by John Wilkes Booth at Ford'd Theatre. I think Abraham Lincoln's terms as President were very good. I think he did the best he could have when he was President.
Mary Todd Lincoln
Mary was the daughter of Robert Smith Todd and Eliza Parker. Mary got to be 5 feet 2 inches. She was an exciting person. Mary had a lovely complexion, long eyelashes, blue eyes, and light-brown hair with a little of bronze. At age 21 she went to live with her sister and it is here were she met Abraham Lincoln. They had a "stormy" relationship and a engagement that was broken. Three years later they were married and had an enduring love. When her husband was elected, her years were filled with misery and triumph. Abraham was very happy of his wife. Mary's life was shattered when her husband was killed. She went back to live with her sister and that is were she died 17 years after her husbands death.
