Jump Start Academy Sessions
Getting the Most of Formative Assessments (All Grades): This session will give you an overview of formative assessments and how to easily incorporate them into your classroom on a regular basis. Presenter: Kathleen Prado
Book Study (Grades K-3) “Number Sense Routines” This will be a roundtable discussion and Make-N-Take for those teachers that participated in the summer book study with Kathy Hatczel.
Classroom Management (Grades K-6): Attend this session to get a framework for how to structure your classroom to support a positive classroom environment and how to provide positive intervention supports. Presenter: Jackie Janicke
Daily 5 (Grades K-3): This session will be an overview or refresher on how to structure your literacy program using the Daily 5. Copies of the Daily 5 book will be provided for those participants that do not currently have one. You will also participate in a Make-N-Take to walk away with something you can bring right to your classroom to use. Presenter: Alice Spingola
YouTube Tips and Tricks in the Classroom (All Grades): Learn how YouTube can be harnessed to get more out of being just videos. Explore how to make playlists, interactive videos, use the YouTube video editor and Chrome extensions to make classroom viewing a better experience!

Treasures Reading Instruction (Grades K-6): Get a refresher on the purposes of the story selections in Treasures. Learn ways that these stories can help us reach the rigor of the CCSS. Presenter: Kathleen Prado
Websites (All Grades): Begin to create your own classroom webpage!
Blogging (All Grades): This session will explore how blogging can get your students writing and expressing their ideas. We will map out how to introduce blogging into your classroom, teach your students how to comment and discover how to connect with other classrooms through blogs. Presenter: Kim Darche
ELL (Grades ): This session will teach you practical ways to adapt your lessons to meet the needs of the ELL students in your general education classroom. Presenter: Maggie Essig
