COVID-19 Reminders
- Remember that wearing a mask is required for all students and staff when entering and exiting the building. Whenever six feet of social distancing cannot be maintained, masks will be worn inside the classroom. Masks will also be worn during transitions from class to class.
- Remember that social distancing of at least six feet is critically important. DHEC requires an exclusion from school for 10-14 days for anyone who tests positive for COVID and all close contacts.
- Close contacts are defined as individuals who spend at least 15 cumulative minutes within six feet of a person while he/she is contagious with COVID. This requirement is not impacted by wearing masks; so even if individuals wear a mask and do not socially distance, they will be excluded from school/work. Individuals with COVID are believed to be contagious for up to 48 hours before they develop symptoms or test positive (if asymptomatic).
Students with symptoms of COVID-19 should be excluded from school if they have any one of the following with or without fever:
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing -or-
- Loss of taste or smell -or-
- New or worsening cough

Correct Address Information
As we are preparing for the registration for 2021-2022, it is important that we have your correct address information on file. This information determines the school your student will attend next year. In addition, final reports cards are mailed at the end of the school year to the address we have on file. All address changes require proper documentation to be presented to the school.
If you have moved or will be moving, please contact our school registrar, Kathy Monaghan, for additional information at 864-355-6774.
Mask/Face Coverings Required for School
- All students are required to wear a mask/face covering while moving around, seated in pods, or in situations where they cannot remain six feet apart. Students may remove their masks for lunch and in classroom settings where they can remain six feet apart.
- All students are expected to walk in lines as they move through the building, not side-by-side.
- All students are to remain six feet apart as they move about the building.
While we are constantly reminding our students of these expectations, we need your help communicating the importance of following the directions given by their teachers and administrators. While we have worked with students and shown grace and time to adapt, consequences are being implemented for those students who choose not to follow the expectations. I have included the GCS guidelines here for further review.
Student Face/Mask Compliance Expectations and Handling Guidelines
Please reach out to a grade level administrator should you have any questions.

Student IDs and Temporary IDs
Students are required to wear their school issued picture ID everyday while on campus. If a student doesn’t have their school issued ID, they will be given a yellow temporary sticker ID for the day.
Each quarter, a student will be given 4 temporary ID’s without penalty. Upon receiving their 5th temporary ID, the student will serve a half day of In School Suspension (ISS). Upon the receipt of their 10th temporary ID, the student will be assigned 1 full day of ISS. Record of temporary ID’s will be reset at the start of each quarter.
New picture ID’s can be purchased in the Media Center for $5.00.
