When state scores were calculated, the social studies team placed eighth in the state. Social studies team members were Cassie Miller, Grace Lancaster, Quinten Smith, Luke Guinn, Lane Jordan and Olivia Stewart. They were coached by Mrs. Kylie Gates.
PROM KING AND QUEEN
"Old Hollywood" was the theme of the prom which was held in the high school cafetorium.
ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERS
Students were given design challenges involving cleaning up space debris, removing trash from the ocean floor, and moving water uphill among other environmental problems. Each group had a mystery bag of materials to use in their designs.
HABIT 6-- WORKING TOGETHER
The students had to work together to move cups only using a string. They had to make a tower of six cups and could only use the piece of string to make the tower.
This exercise demonstrates the importance of working together to complete the task. This exercise was part of Mrs. Sheryl McDaniel's guidance lessons.
TRES FIRST GRADE GOES TO PARK
With the help of the park’s naturalist, the classes learned about some of the plants. The group went to the planetarium and nature center. Following their visit to the park, they stopped at Up the Creek for ice cream.
JAG STUDENTS VISIT VINCENNES
Parke Heritage High School students in the JAG (Jobs of America's Graduates) class recently visited Vincennes University. The students were able to tour the campus and eat lunch in the cafeteria.
Students attending were Aaron Anderson, Daylon Brooks, Madison Fleener, Blake Lamb, Quinton Norman, Seth Bollinger, Kevin Simpson, William Swinney, Jordan Wilkey, and Dustin Pruett. The class is taught by Mrs. Kimberly Snodgrass.
