IMPORTANT Elementary Transportation Information
NEXT WEEK IS BUS SAFETY WEEK - WBSD will be performing school bus safety drills next week. On Monday, October 17 drills will be completed with Roosevelt students. Therefore, buses may be running 5-10 minutes behind to pick up students for Sheiko, Doherty, Scotch, and Gretchko Elementary Schools.

Oakland Schools’ STEMi Mobile Innovation Station at WBMS
STEMi is a 1,000 square foot mobile lab designed to provide learners with meaningful hands-on experiences with the latest industry technologies. The goal of the experience is to provide students with insights into STEM careers. This week, students rotated between five stations: Smart Manufacturing, two Collaborative Robots, Autonomous Vehicles, and Extended Reality.

CAD & Architecture Students at Lawrence Tech University
WBHS students visited Lawrence Tech University for Exploration Day. Students got to explore various careers in technology. They met with and had classes with college professors, participated in design challenges, and enjoyed learning about real-world experiences.

Thank you to the students at Oakland Early College for preparing, recording, and moderating the video interviews. All Board of Education Candidates were provided an opportunity for an interview.
On-Site College Admissions Day
The WBHS hosted On-Site College Admissions Day. Thirteen different colleges and universities meet with seniors, offered admissions decisions, and provided scholarship opportunities on the spot! This year, 157 students participated in the event, with many students walking away with acceptance offers to multiple colleges. Several students went home with full tuition or even full-ride scholarship offers!
Bravo and a Round of Applause
38 WBHS students were inducted to the Tri-M Honor Society this week. They heard from guest speaker Arthur Yang, a U of M marching band freshman (and WBSD grad). Tri-M strives to grow music programs and develop leaders while integrating Band, Choir, and Orchestra.

Blessings in a Backpack is a program, run entirely by volunteers, that sends six non-perishable meals home with needy West Bloomfield School children for each of the 40 weekends of the school year. This fundraiser for Blessings in a Backpack will be held on Friday, November 4 at St. George Church located at 43816 Woodward Ave, Bloomfield Hills.

Math Pentathlon teaches and reinforces basic math concepts and skills, stimulates creative thinking, develops spatial and logical reasoning, and good sportsmanship.
