Money Mammals Information

The Westerly Community Credit Union is offering a new program called Money Mammals to teach children important money skills. There are no more bank days at school however, your child can continue to use their account and make deposits at a WCCU branch. WCCU made this change so more students and families can benefit from the program which offers a variety of fun learning activities including on-line games, books and other resources. The attached PDF file explains it in more detail. The link below provides easy access to the Money Mammals program.

WCCU feels strongly that educating young people today will create better informed adults for tomorrow. They are committed to Financial Education and proudly sponsor school programs that teach our youth lifelong financial literacy skills that will better prepare them for their future. All programs sponsored solely by WCCU. For more information, contact Kim Gates, WCCU Financial Education Officer at (401) 596-7000 ext. 2124 or at kgates@westerlyccu.com.

Langworthy Library Opportunities

Check out the PDF file directly below for 3 wonderful opportunities for students at the Langworthy Library. The librarian is a Hope valley School alum and is a great artist. Show your support and attend these great sessions. More information within the file below.
  • 10/5 @ 11:00 - Leaf Rubbing
  • 10/19 @ 11:00 - Halloween Party and Craft
  • 10/23 @ 4:00 - Bat Chat

Library Update

The library renovation is COMPLETE. What a transformation. Here are some pictures of our gorgeous library. It was a ton of work getting the library put back together. Mrs. Ward and 2 special library elves (Mrs. Sheldon and Mrs. Sousa) worked so hard to organize it. There were plenty of stressful moments but all in all we are so happy to have a new, more spacious library.

Lost and Found Items

Just a reminder that our September "Lost and Found" bin is already overflowing. Staff will check lost clothing for name tags and actively seek to return items to their owners, but all unclaimed lost and found items will be held for two months and then bagged and donated to charity. If students are missing items, they should check the bins (which are located in the cafeteria).

Do you need Babysitting Help?

We have a URI student working in our school with Mrs. Pastore (reading specialist) and Mrs. Curran (school psychologist) and she is looking for some babysitting gigs. If anyone is interested or in need of a babysitter, I highly recommend her. She works extremely well with the students and is hard working. Her name is Casey Koffler. She is up to date with CPR and First Aid training and has her babysitting certificate. If interested, you can reach out to her directly at 401-569-6211.
