Principal's Update
With the trimester ending last week, teachers will begin carefully recording student growth on your child's report card. I am very impressed by the poise and effort modeled by the staff and students. Starting the year in person has been an advantage for our students and they continue to demonstrate their appreciation through their dedication and hard work. Report cards will be sent home with students on Friday, March 26th and we are asking you to sign & return the report card envelope on Tuesday, April 6th, when we resume after spring break.
Educational Choice Survey - 2021-22 School Year - After spring break, families will receive a survey to share their preference for learning in the 2021-22 school year. There will be an option for in-person or virtual learning. It is important for planning purposes that we receive responses from all families for all children.
NWEA Testing for 3rd and 4th Grade - Our upper elementary students finished their NWEA math and reading assessments this week. Results from these tests will be shared in report cards next week.
M-Step Testing for 3rd and 4th Grade - The federal government gave states the option to have students take the M-Step or use other assessments to measure student growth. We are waiting for the states decision on the assessment to be used for third and fourth graders this year. If the decision is made to hold M-Step testing, it will begin the last week of April.
Morning Drop-Off: If you are running late and arrive after staff supervision is no longer present, students must be escorted to the main entrance for check-in.
Have a great weekend,
Jeff Eisele

WELCOME TO THE COUNSELOR CORNER!
Here we are in March, ready for some sunshine and warmer weather! This month, I will be visiting classrooms for some Read Alouds and social-emotional based stories to celebrate Reading Month. My goal for this month is to take more time to directly meet the needs of students individually and to support our incredible teachers during this stretch of the year when we all need a little extra TLC.
Lets Connect: If you are noticing some behaviors that are interfering with your child’s success in the classroom, please feel free to complete my parent referral form and we can work together to determine if supports are needed at school.
More Resources: The Elementary Counseling Team also has the BAS Elementary Counseling (New Updates!) website for ideas and resources to be used at home!
