UPDATE: Superintendent Search Paused, Interim Sought for 2022-2023
The Joint Executive Governing Board and the Missouri School Boards’ Association (MSBA), the firm responsible for the search for the next NSC Superintendent, met on Tuesday May 3. During that meeting, it was announced that instead of seeking a permanent superintendent for the next school year, an interim superintendent will be put in place. The search for that person is on now. Internal and external candidates will be considered.
The search for a permanent superintendent will resume in the fall with the hope that that person will be in place to take over the district for the 2023/2024 school year.
“The need to engage the community is really important to this school district. And I feel like that if we would have rushed things through and tried to do a search at the end of the school year a couple of things wouldn’t have gone well. One, we wouldn’t have really deeply engaged the community and second we’re not getting the robust number of applications I’d like to have seen,” said Dr. Steve Brotherton, MSBA consultant and former superintendent of Affton School District.
A link to the meeting can be found here.
