Juniors are invited to ACT prep on Saturday, February 15th from 9:00am-12:00pm in the LRC. This prep session will be led by Mr. Brooks from Brooks Tutoring. The ACT will be February 25th at 9:00am.

Congratulations RECHS Beta Club

On Thursday and Friday our RECHS Beta Club members competed at State Competition. As you can see in the photo, our students came away with A TON of awards. Congratulations to all of our students and our advisers, Ms. Wood, Ms. Darcy and Mr. Schuyler. We are proud of all of you and look forward to you advancing to nationals in June.

Meet Daniel Ferguson, RCC Liaison

Mr. Daniel Ferguson joined RECHS last week as our RCC Liaison. He has worked at RCC since 2018 and we are so excited to have him as part of the Raven family. Pre-bubbling for the ACT will take place in seminars for the juniors this week. Juniors please be present during seminars because this needs to be completed prior to your test on February 25th.

Writing Center Workshop, E-mail Etiquette

The RCC Writing Center is hosting a workshop entitled, E-mail Etiquette, on Monday, February 10th. The workshop begins at 1:00pm and will last for 45 minutes. The workshop focuses on how to write professional emails. This will take place in LRC 214. Students, if your schedule allows, please try to attend this workshop.

Rho Kappa

Rho Kappa members, please attend one of the following Rho Kappa meetings:

EITHER February 19th at 12:15 in The Armadillo Room OR February 20th at 4:00 in Mrs. Fleetwood's room.

Certificates of membership will be handed out, requests for senior honor cords will be taken, and a proposed field trip on April 18th will be discussed.

RCC Tutoring and Writing Center Information (Utilize these resources for college-level courses only.)

  • Mr. Suttles, RCC's Math tutor, is back for the 2020 Spring Semester! He can also tutor in Chemistry or Physics. No appointment is necessary, just advise students to come to the welcome center at the times indicated on the flyer.

  • If a student wants tutoring in another subject, please refer them to me or the Welcome Center. After they fill out the tutor request form, a tutor will contact them to schedule a time to meet for tutoring. If we do not have a tutor for the subject they are requesting a tutor for, we will attempt to find one or assist them with using our online tutoring resource.

Mt. Shepherd Retreat Center needs volunteers!

If you are interested in completing community service hours at Mt. Shepherd Retreat Center please email the Camp Director, Rev. Josh Britton at They are looking for students who can help with food service, programs for guests, housekeeping, landscaping and office work. Students can work after school on the weekdays or weekend opportunities are available as well.

The Volunteer Center of Randolph County serves over 40 agencies in our county. All of the agencies are in search of volunteers. Students, if you are interested, please find more information on our Student Services site which is linked on our school webpage.
