7 Habits of Happy Kids:

Keep focused on the 7 Habits.

Hamilton Teachers,

Keep up the excellent work. You are all doing such a great job planning for instruction and then implementing instruction. I am very impressed with what I am seeing as I walk through classes. Thank you for being such an incredible group of educators!

Lesson Plans: Please share them with me on Google Drive

If you write your lesson plans out, then please scan them on the copy machine and email them to me. This way you can save paper and it is easier for me to add them to google drive. I do not want hard copies.

Also, lesson plans are due to me by Monday morning before 8:45.

*A few days ago, I shared the google link to your individual lesson plan folder. Please check your emails for the link.

It is that time again - District Benchmark Assessments:

  • 2016-17 K-2nd assessments are in process of being ordered. They should be arriving at our campus next week.
  • 1st-2nd grade online preview is available via Haiku/ PUSD Curriculum Folder. Kinder will be available by day’s end. There have been changes to assessments. To lower any anxiety, please look and preview the assessment before it needs to be administered.
  • The window for the Fall 2016 K-5th District Benchmark Assessments, ELA and Math is 11/1-11/18.
  • This benchmark encompasses a multiple choice assessment and performance task.
  • K-2nd will be paper/pencil and 3rd-5th will be on EADMs.
  • For 3rd-5th grade ELA, any child reading below grade level according to IRI data should receive the accommodation of the benchmark text read aloud to him/her. The rationale for this is that it is not a fluency or reading test, but rather a comprehension test.
  • All data must be into EADMs by 11/18. This includes the grading of assessments.
  • Teachers MUST go into the following tiles to grade:
    • C/R grading: Performance Tasks for 1st-5th
    • Input/Edit Responses: Multiple Choice for K-2nd
    • Multiple Choice for 3rd-5th is automatically graded.

  • Science assessments (K-5)
  • Assessment window is open from 11/18-12/20. All data must be inputted into EADMS by 12/20.
    • Input/Edit Responses: Multiple Choice for K-2nd
    • Multiple Choice for 3rd-5th is automatically graded.
    • C/R grading: CR questions for 3-5
  • Assessments for 3rd-5th include multiple choice, open-ended response questions.
