The New Kid
Veteran's Day
Below are some letters our 5th graders have written to share with our Veterans.
Thank You!
I am very proud of our students and how well they responded to our lock down situation that occurred last Wednesday. They remained calm, were great listeners, and followed directions.
Thank you to our parents and community for your support of building procedures, and your cooperation during our evacuation to and dismissal from the Middle School last Wednesday. You helped make this process go as smoothly as possible.
Thank you to all the law enforcement officers who responded, patrolled and made your presence known at MCE. You made us all feel safe.
Thank you to the faculty and staff at MCR2, and especially at MCE! Everyone remained professional, calm and caring in a stressful situation. I can't thank you enough for all you do for our students.
PTO Fundraiser Items have been delivered.
Chromebooks have arrived!
We are now 1-1 with Chromebooks in 4th & 5th grade. We are 1-1 with iPads in 3rd grade. We are moving the desktops from our 4th grade classrooms to 2nd grade. We are excited to have the opportunity to integrate more technology into our curriculum daily.
Your fundraising efforts supported these purchases! Thank you!
Attendance Goal : 95% attendance building wide
Our average daily attendance at MCE for this past week was:
Tuesday: 94.57%
Wednesday: 96.41%
Thursday: 93.08%
Friday: 94.24%
Montgomery City Elementary is working hard to keep our school wide attendance at 95%. Missing one day, or even one hour of a four day school week is precious learning time lost. In order to promote attendance and its importance we’ve decided to launch an incentive. In partnership with PTO, we are offering a chance at a $25 gift card for perfect attendance throughout the next 20 school days.
Details:
• For each day that a student is at school on time and stays the entire daythey will have their name put in the drawing for the gift card. (This means they could have their name in 20 times)
• Dates of Qualification: October 18th- November 18th
• There will be a $25.00 gift card for each grade level.
• Times that a student must be in school to qualify are 7:50 am till 3:35 pm.

Phone calls to change transportation routes are for Emergencies Only
If you need to make a change to your child’s normal routine you must send a note with your child in the morning. If it is an emergency, you must call and speak to a secretary before 2pm. Do not leave a message on the school answering service. The answering service is to report absences only, and it is not checked throughout the day.
We will not make any changes after 2pm. Our goal is to get every student safely to their correct destination at the end of each day. We need your help to make sure this happens.
