Saber Speak
Dear Saber Families,
This week testing concludes for most students as 8th graders take their Science tests on the block days scheduled Monday and Tuesday. We are back to our normal dismissal schedule for this week; dismissal on Thursday is at 2:05pm, and on Friday it is at 3:05pm.
Please continue to encourage your students, especially 8th grade students, to do their best and remain eligible for promotion! We are so close! Notices will continue to go out about 8th grade promotion status, so keep an eye on your email this week, and reach out if you have any questions.
There are a number of exciting events available to students and families in our community; please check out our website and the Saber Truth more flyers and information about all that is happening! Some updates for this week include a Drive for your School Fundrasier (where just for test driving a Ford, you can earn money for schools!) and a Girls' Hackathon Event focused on computer engineering and problem solving!
Finally, this week is Staff Appreciation Week, and Sinaloa is already grateful to all the families and friends who have already volunteered to help with donations of time and talent! The PTSA is requesting that anyone who is dropping off snacks or food for staff to do so before school starting at 7:30am on Tuesday OR 7:30am on Friday. Also, anyone with gift card or other prize donations, please bring them to the office at your earliest convenience.
Thank you for all you do, and for being a part of the incredible Saber family!
Sincerely,
Bradley Torti

6th Grade WOLF Outdoor Camp
Important Reminders for Families
Those students being dropped off at camp by parents, drop off is at 10am....please do not arrive before 10am. You will need to go to the gate and let them know you are here for Sinaloa 6th Grade camp. Those students taking the bus to camp should be at school at the normal time. We will store their gear in a classroom until it is time to leave.
For those students that will need to take medications while at camp, please drop off the medications with your child at camp. You will also need to pick them up from camp with your child on Friday. Medications need to be in a ziploc back in the original containers. The bag needs to be labeled with your students name. There must be detailed instructions inside the bag that tells the camp administrators when to give your student the medication and what the dosage amount is. Should you have more questions regarding medications, you can contact Wolf Camp directly at (818) 991-6707.
Students may NOT bring any electronic devices including cell phones and smart watches. If there is an emergency and you need to contact your student, please call Sinaloa and someone will get a hold of your student.
On Friday, parents who have not designated that their student will be returning to Sinaloa by bus, MUST be picked up NO LATER than 1:00pm (but not before 12:30pm) from Camp. If someone other than a parent is picking up a student, the parent MUST have written a note to the teachers and the person picking up MUST HAVE ID. Students WILL NOT be released to friends or family WITHOUT Sinaloa staff having PRIOR knowledge.
Students who return to school by bus will have their gear stored in a classroom until after school.
Please let us know if you have any questions!

Attendance Policies
Attendance Phone Line: 805-520-6830 Press 1, or Ext. 7021 (Can call anytime day or night)
Para espanol, oprima la estrella. (Llama dia o noche)
ABSENCES - Parents have five (5) days to call-in, email, or send in a note to the attendance office to excuse an absence otherwise it becomes truant. Keep in mind that personal/vacation are verified but still considered unexcused.
TARDIES - If a student is tardy to homeroom or late to school, they need to check-in with the attendance office to get a tardy pass. Students tardy to homeroom will have a 15 minute detention after school unless a parent calls, emails, or sends in a note to excuse the tardy. Excessive tardies to classes will affect "citizenship" grade.
EARLY PICK-UPS - We encourage parents to call-in ahead of time (or send in a note or email) for early pick-ups so that we can have the student in the office ready to go. Anyone checking-out a student must be listed on the student's emergency contact list, be 18 years or older, and must show a valid ID.
