CB South Gives To The Community
CB South’s American Cuisine and Global Gourmet FCS classes make terrific food when we are in school, and we always share it with those in need. Usually it goes to the Bucks County Housing Group’s food pantry, after an in-class presentation by one of their staff. Since that wasn’t possible during the closure, Mrs. Howard contacted another local food pantry to see if they needed anything. Mrs. Howard delivered all the extra food this week to Pennridge FISH in Perkasie. South donated a whopping 155 pounds to the organization. South is so happy to help during this difficult time!
Safe2Say Reminders
Safe2Say is a valuable resource that has been set up by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to provide a method for anyone to report a concern about a student or group of students 24/7. Safe2Say has been used quite a bit throughout this year and especially during this time away from school. With that, there are some important reminders that I'd like to share so that we can best support our students:
- If you put in a tip, please check back often for communications. The tip line is monitored 24/7 at the state level. The tip is sent to the school and/or police if it is deemed "Life Safety" immediately. It is sent in the morning if it is determined to be "Non-Life Safety." I will respond as soon as I am able to do so - this will always depend on the timing and nature of the tip.
- It is important to include as much information as possible, especially now when we are not able to meet with individuals in person. If you have evidence of your concerns, please share these with us. You can attach pictures and videos in the Safe2Say system.
- Just like when we are in school, it is always best to try and contact Mrs. Davis, Mr. Monk, or myself directly if it is not a matter of life safety. We will be the ones to work through the concern and it is helpful to be able to speak directly with you.

A Message From The Library!
CB South,
I miss seeing the 400-500 of you who visit the library daily. I miss the AM rush, the lunch crowd, the book clubs, the book talks, the college talks, the money talks, and the life talks with you. Even though we currently can’t see each other in person, we can stay connected. I encourage you to check out the CB South Library webpage (https://www.cbsd.org/domain/525) for eBooks and audiobooks. Also, make sure you check your email for birthday wishes, helpful videos, and library updates. If you need anything, let me know.
Miss you,
Mr. Pecic

An Important Message from South's Guidance Department
It is very important to remember that children look to adults for guidance on how to react to stressful events. If parents seem overly worried, children’s anxiety may rise. Parents should reassure children that health and school officials are working hard to ensure that people throughout the country stay healthy. However, children also need factual, age appropriate information about the potential seriousness of disease risk and concrete instruction about how to avoid infections and spread of disease. Teaching children positive preventive measures, talking with them about their fears, and giving them a sense of some control over their risk of infection can help reduce anxiety.
There are a number of valuable resources pertaining to mental wellness, crisis, drug & alcohol support on our district website. To access these organizations’ phone numbers and website information please visit the Family Support Resources page.

SPECIAL INFORMATION FROM THE GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT
Yearbooks On Sale!
The 2019-2020 yearbooks are currently on sale for $85. All orders are processed online at www.jostensyearbooks.com . The last day to pre-order a book is April 30th. In past years, students have not reserved yearbooks thinking they would wait until the last week of school to see if they were interested. As the school year progresses, students become involved in activities and form friendships with other students. When the yearbooks arrive in May, they are disappointed not having a copy of their own! In previous years we have completely sold out of yearbooks! Do not let this happen to your child. Our yearbook is filled with wonderful memories of the school year, so reserve one today! If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Fidler at jfidler@cbsd.org .
