Consider Yourself Lucky!
Every day we can consider ourselves lucky for many reasons. In Ms. Talwar’s classroom, they have kept a celebrations tree lit and the students are currently decorating it with shamrocks filled with reasons why they consider themselves lucky. We assure our students and ourselves that luck plays a role in our lives, but hard work and perseverance help us get to the things in life that make us feel lucky.
FPS has worked hard this year to achieve the goals of our Coherence Plan. We have worked on building an understanding of ways to provide greater access to universal instruction for all students. And at each of our schools, our MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) data shows that we are making progress towards achieving their school improvement goals.
In addition, our athletic and activities teams have been extremely successful. Our football and gymnastic teams are the best in the State. Our Poms program was recently ranked 5th overall at the national competition and the highest-scoring team from Wisconsin. And we have many other teams and individuals that have qualified and placed high in regional, sectional, and state competitions. This Saturday, March 12th, we are proud to host the WSMA District Solo/Ensemble Festival at Franklin High School, which is a qualifier for the state event. Our Robotics Team at FHS has advanced to the World Championship for the first time since 2010. Our art, music, and FBLA programs are all competing at the state level as well and have received high levels of recognition.
And we are not finished yet! We will be continuing to work to achieve and set new goals to ensure that Frankin Public Schools is a Better Place to Learn.
Have a great weekend,
Dr. Judy Mueller
District Administrator

FPS Summer Learning Program Opens Monday!
Our FPS Summer Learning Program is gearing up! Different from past years, this year’s Summer Learning Program will only be a 4-day program Monday through Thursday. The reason for this shift stems from our commitment to honoring staff time and family time during the summer. We often see lower student attendance on Fridays and Mondays due to family trips or travel. Offering a more condensed program will help us to properly staff the program and provide the flexibility for families and students to enjoy their summer while not missing out on the learning opportunities we offer.
We are currently putting the finishing touches on some of the offerings but our Summer Learning Program webpage will be updated on Monday to include all relevant information. In addition, the program offerings, including the registration form, will be emailed to all families this coming Monday, March 14th. Registration will be open from Monday, March 14th through Sunday, April 3rd, and please note that like last year, registration is NOT first-come-first-serve. Families will have 3 weeks to register for programming. Watch your email or check the webpage on Monday for more information!
NOTE: Those looking for a Friday offering for your child can check out our Kids Camp programming below...
Kids Camp Summer Offerings
If your child is enrolled in FPS Summer Learning and wants to attend Kids Camp, there is a bus to Ben Franklin for Camp after FPS Summer Learning ends around noon. Kids Camp is also offered on Fridays if you are looking for options for your child since there is no FPS Summer Learning on Fridays.

COVID-19 UPDATES
Early last week, the Center for Disease Control updated their recommended framework and guidance (here) which impacted how some of our protocols and procedures will operate moving forward.
In response to the changes in guidance, the Board of Education held a special meeting on Thursday, March 3rd, and voted to update some of our protocols. You can read the full details of those updates in this document here.
DASHBOARD UPDATE & CHANGES
Here is today’s FPS COVID-19 Dashboard. Currently, under the new CDC framework released last week, Milwaukee County sits at low. Beginning next week, we will not publish a dashboard unless the Milwaukee County rating moves to high. We also will not be using the 1.5% metric to determine masking unless we are in the high category. If the county enters high, we will resume publishing a dashboard and inform families of any changes or updates. We would also resume using the 1.5% metric to track new positive cases for a 7-day period. Required masking would only occur at a building if the 7-day positivity rate exceeds 1.5%.
