We are so excited to welcome our newest Tigers! Next week is a very special week - we will have Everett Ready and our Kindergarten Orientation. Details are below. Please reach out with any questions.

Monday August 22 - Friday August 26

9:15 am - 12:15pm

  • Students will meet their amazing Kindergarten teachers, Mrs. McCandless, Mrs. Houser, Mrs. Barrow and Mrs. Detloff and our amazing paraeducators, Mrs. Badley, Mrs. Cecil and Mrs. Mundwiler.
  • This week is to help get your students setup for a successful start at Garfield! They will have breakfast, circle time, stations and snack each day. It will be a day packed with new learning and lots of fun.
  • District transportation has sent out the information for all students qualifying and requesting bus transportation. Bus drop off is at the gate on Pine Street.
  • Parent drop-off is at the Kindergarten gate (end of the carline in front of the school). This will be clearly marked. Please arrive between 9:00 am - 9:10 am.
  • Due to road construction the entrance on 22nd Street will be inaccessible, please use the Pine Street exit as an entrance.

Please come join us to meet your Kindergarten teachers, learn about Kindergarten at Garfield Elementary and ask questions! There will be a special treat for all of our new kindergarteners.


Due to road construction if you are driving you will need to enter on Pine Street. Please park in our main parking lot and enter at the Kindergarten gate (it will be clearly marked). Our event will begin at 5:45pm in the Kindergarten outdoor area. After brief introductions we will begin rotations through the 4 classrooms. Each classroom will be sharing exciting information for you and your kindergartener. We will end with a treat in the outdoor Kindergarten play area.
