Mrs. Guerci's Super Second Grade
News for April
Welcome Back From Spring Break!
We're in the home stretch now, with so much to learn in so little time. Please continue to encourage effective homework habits - getting work done early before students are overtired and supervising placement of work back into the backpack.
Reminder: This Saturday is the Nature Fair and Plant Sale.
Don't forget the Nature Fair and Plant Sale. Look for flyer coming home.
Second Grade will head to the Virginia Living Museum on May 7th
On May 7, the second grade will be leaving early for its trip down to Newport News to visit the Virginia Living Museum. This field trip will support our Science SOLs pertaining to life cycles. Children will need to get to school early - before school bus transportation - so that we may leave around 8:00. The trip will cost $30.00 per person. We will travel on tour buses which accounts for a large part of the cost. Children will have time to explore, attend a presentation, and have a picnic lunch on the grounds before returning to school in time to take the regular bus home. Please let me know if you are interested in chaperoning. Chaperones will also need to pay $30.00 each.
Skill Practice
Two digit subtraction is proving very difficult for those children who have yet to learn their math facts with speed and accuracy. Please work daily on facts to 20.
