The steamships engines worked by burning coal to boil water and make steam to turn a turbine which spun the propellers and spun a generator too.


The most common way immigrants traveled to America is in steerage . They didn't have any room it was horrible. They sometimes didn't get food until the British government issued minimum food requirements.
