Indian Removal Act of 1830/ Trail of Tears
In 1830 President Jackson gave the order to remove the Cherokees from their homes to concentration camps. In result, over 16,000 Indians were removed from their homes barefoot, and without enough blankets to stay warm. When they were walking to the concentration camps over 25% died on the walk. When the finally arrived they didn't have enough food or clothing for the Indian.
"Spoil System"
Jackson rewarded political supporters with government jobs by firing people who already had the job. Jackson also appointed unqualified people to serve in his cabinet.
Vetoes
Andrew Jackson abused his presidential powers during his presidency. He vetoed the 2nd Bank of the United States, he did because he thought it gave the wealthy an unfair advantage. He would disregard the constitution by abusing his power to veto bills.
