NEWS FROM THE HEADS
Congratulations to our stunning athletes who triumphed at the ISA London West Athletics Championships on Wednesday. The Senior girls took overall 1st place. Our brilliant Junior Girls, outperformed larger schools, with very much larger athletes to come an exceptionally well deserved 2nd place. Our PE Department, led by Miss Cox and supported by Miss Hudson for the Juniors, should be very proud of what they have achieved with Claires Court Girls finishing 1st overall resulting in our team of 14 girls representing London West at the National Championships later in the term. Welcome back to one the busiest half terms of the academic year! (Who am I kidding? - every half term is busy at Claires Court!). I think this is deemed to be the busiest because it such a short half term and thoughts are moving towards next academic year. With this is mind, a letter will be coming home to announce our staffing for September 2015.
Whilst we are excited for next year, we still have so much to look forward to this term and the girls have started back with a bang. Read more >>>
Transition children have had enormous fun this week visiting our Junior Boys site, Ridgeway, where they have explored the grounds and the trees, discussing the importance of trees for the environment and undertaking leaf printing and rubbing. A big thank you goes to Stuart Stevens, our site manager, who has driven the 4 groups of Transition children and the 3 groups of nursery children, who went before the half term holiday, in the school minibus. IMPORTANT NOTICES
Whilst appreciating the difficulties that parents face, we do ask that we all show consideration for the safety of others and in enabling smooth traffic flow around the site. Therefore, can we please remind parents that, when dropping children at the front of the school (outside the Office), cars should only be parked within the marked bays. Vehicles should NOT park randomly or on double yellow lines. Irregular parking restricts access and causes congestion in this area, as well as risking the safety of all our pupils, parents and visitors. Therefore, we ask if there is no bay free to please drive out and park elsewhere. Thank you for your understanding.
FROM THE SCHOOL OFFICE
SUMMER FETE Saturday 20 June: Your daughter / Nursery child will be bringing home the Fete Brochure which includes, (inside the front cover), a tear off slip for admission into the Fete and entry into the Lucky Programme Draw. The prize this year is a voucher for a premier racing day in October at Royal Windsor Racecourse. Please send the slip & payment back to the School Office prior to the date of Saturday 20 June 2015. The Office will then send you (via pupil post) a payment receipt which will act as your Entry ticket (so please keep it safe!).
A plea for help at the Fete: Are there any artistic parents out there who could support the Face Painting stall at the Summer Fete? The PtA would love your offers of help!!

PUPIL NEWS
ISA ATHLETICS
A hugely successful day at the reCent ISA Athletics Competition saw CC girls win a total of 18 gold, 19 silver and 9 bronze medals. All the training paid off as the Senior Girls finished as overall winners and the Junior Girls came runners-up overall. This secured the Claires Court Girls the Overall Winners Trophy. 14 girls have been selected to represent the Region of London West at the forthcoming National Finals on Monday 22 June at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham which is really exciting. There are still many athletics events over the forthcoming weeks including the Year 7 District Trials and County Championships, the Year 8 - 13 County Championships, RBWM Knight Frank Athletics fixtures and Finals and of course our Junior and Senior Sports Days!
YEAR 6 MOUNT EVEREST CHALLENGE
Year 6 are studying mountains this term and in particular the Himalaya mountain range.
In order to help the young children who have been affected by the recent earthquakes in Nepal, some of the Year 6 class have decided that they would like to raise some money.
The girls have worked out that if they walk around the outside lane of the School athletics track 40 times, it will be approx 8800 metres in distance, which is roughly the height of Mount Everest. Therefore, they would like to be sponsored to climb Mount Everest (walk the distance of 8.8km)!
If any parents (or staff) would like to sponsor/donate, please collect a form from the Year 6 classroom.
