Spud...The Madness Continues
By: Karl Gabb
Summary:
The madness definitely continues in this 2nd book of the Spud series. Spud and the rest of the Crazy Eight are now 2nd years and no longer the "small fish in the large pond." The now "Big Boys," face many perils at school and at home. His Delusional grandmother nicknamed "Wombat" is getting worse mentally, while his mother is hell-bent on emigrating. His Father, a lunatic has been making a killing on his illegal moonshine business. The year ahead of spud is going to be tough. At school the pain and embarrassment is far from over. Throughout the book Spud and the Crazy Eight face trouble and ridicule. To much ridicule from his friends Spud decides to join the school play and lands a lead part. This rendition of Spud (the book) is by far one of my favorites, and is an absolute must read for anyone that wants to experience other cultures!
Spud (not actually a potato)
Spud is the main character, and my favorite!
Rambo (but not this one)
Rambo is the "wild one" and does anything you dare him to. He is also the unspoken leader of the Crazy Eight.
Mr. 'The Guv' Edly (actual actor in the Spud movies)
The Guv is the schools english teacher, he is also Spuds "fatherly figure" since Spud lacks the fatherly attention at home.
