Book Buddies

On Wednesday we had an extra recess with our book buddies to enjoy the beautiful fall morning. We spend 30 minutes each week with our preschool friends. Our class loves reading, solving puzzles, and helping them write. We adore our tiny sweet friends.

In reading we continue to work on nonfiction reading. Locating the main idea and details will be the primary focus.

Students have selected one topic that they consider themselves "experts". We are creating a nonfiction book on this topic. The book will include different types of nonfiction text structures. This project will take several weeks to complete.

In math this week we worked hard on multiple step problems that could involving adding, subtracting and even multiplying and dividing. Try to make up number stories at home, while shopping, or while driving in the car.

Here is an example:

Mrs. McDaniel buys 2 packs of cookies to share with a friend equally. Each pack contains 4 cookies. Mrs. McDaniel eats one cookie. How many will she have left?

Keep practicing those fact cards at home each night.

Specialty Research Schedule

The last set of research will be due after fall break.

Survival/Adaptation facts- Friday, October 28th
