Home-School Partnerships
As we head into conference week, I want to thank our Windsor families for the many ways you partner with us. From volunteering in classrooms, to making sure your child arrives on time and ready to learn each day, your partnership and support make a difference! It really is no surprise that research has proven that when parents and teachers work together, students benefit. From better grades to better behavior, this partnership is essential.
First trimester conferences are scheduled for November 20th and 21st. If you have not yet signed up to attend your child's conference, I encourage you to do so. Not only will this be a time for the teacher to share about the great work and progress your child is making, it will be an opportunity for you to see their learning environment, ask questions, and get to know their teacher.
Again, we thank you for your partnership and support as we work together to provide our students with the very best learning environment possible.
Sincerely,
Ms. Roelle
Veterans Day Assembly
Our Veterans Day assembly was an amazing celebration of the many Veterans and active military families in our community. Thank you for joining us!
School Safety
Along with providing our students with the best learning environment possible, we strive to maintain an environment that ensures their safety. One of the ways we do this is through monthly school drills. By law, we are required to practice a school safety drill each month. This month, we are practicing our first lockdown drill. During any drill, we want students to feel prepared, and safe. Prior to the lockdown drill on Wednesday, students will be pre-taught the procedures they need to follow and will be informed in child-friendly terms why. A lockdown drill is utilized to protect students and staff using the security of locked classrooms and office locations in the event a threat is inside the building. Please note, this is NOT an active shooter drill.
During all drills we work with our Director of Student Safety, our YES officers and local first-responders to test our emergency calling system and all building functions. Afterwards, we debrief the drill and make any necessary adjustments.
We treat all drills as if they are a real-life event. For that reason, if you arrive at our building during a lockdown drill, we will not be able to allow you in until the drill is over. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; typically all drills are over within just a few minutes.
