Gananda Middle School Drama Club Presents Frozen JRThe Gananda Middle School Drama Club will be performing Disney’s Frozen JR on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23 at 7 pm in the middle school auditorium. Tickets are $6 each and will be available at the door. A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen JR. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen JR. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart! | Cross Creek Church - Project Serve 2019Gananda Central School District is pleased to announce it is once again supporting the efforts of Project Serve to provide Thanksgiving dinners to families in need within our area. This annual effort is being led by Cross Creek Church. Project Serve provided meals to 450 families last year. The meals include a turkey dinner, potatoes, stuffing, a pie, rolls, and vegetables. If you would like to support the effort you can do one of two things: 1)Donate:

They will begin packing at 9 am on Saturday, November 23rd at Cross Creek Church, deliveries will begin as soon as the packing is completed. It is a great way for a family to spend time together. You should have received letters that were sent home with your child last week with a schedule indicating when he or she will attend our event during the school day. We are looking for parent volunteers to help out. If you can donate an hour, please email Teacher-Librarian Kathy Lepkowski or call 315-986-3521 x2308. Join us as the library hosts Family Night Friday evening, November 22nd. Family members are invited to browse and shop for the holidays from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Anyone who attends Family Night at the book fair can enter a drawing to win $100 worth of books and prizes! Family Night happens the same evening as our school musical Frozen, JR. If you’re attending both events, we are open before the show and during intermission. |

Cross Creek Church - Project Serve 2019
Gananda Central School District is pleased to announce it is once again supporting the efforts of Project Serve to provide Thanksgiving dinners to families in need within our area. This annual effort is being led by Cross Creek Church.

- Donate online. The meals cost $30 per family.
- Donate at School on Friday, November 22. There will be collection jars in the offices and entrances to all buildings.

Show of Unity For Miss Fee

#Outstanding Throughout the month of November, Citizens of the World Club made blankets for Berkshire Totes for Tots. This organization collects donations to supply duffel bags filled with emergency supplies (toiletries, stuffed animals, books, blankets, nightlights) to be given to children being placed into foster care by the Department of Children and Family Services. The fabric for the blankets was donated by Tierney Kelley and her family. C.O.W Club was able to make 30 blankets to send to the kids in Massachusetts along with stuffed animals and books. | #Driven Congratulations to the newest members of the National Math Honor Society! Math honor society students must maintain a 90 or higher overall GPA and also a 90 or higher math GPA. Math honor members also provide math tutoring in the elementary, middle and high schools. As a high school student, Melissa was a member of both the National Honor Society and National Math Honor Society. As a Blue Panther, Melissa also competed on the softball and basketball teams and earned many honors including softball team MVP in 2011, and being named to both the all-state team in basketball, as well as the Section V all-tournament basketball team. She was also an integral member of the Gananda Girls Basketball team that brought home the State Championship Title in 2011. After graduating from Gananda, Melissa continued her education at Nazareth College earning a Nazareth Presidential Scholarship. While in college, she continued playing basketball all four years as a Nazareth Golden Eagle. Melissa graduated in 2015 with a B.A. in Mathematics and a Adolescent Inclusive Education Certification. She completed her master's degree in Inclusive Education from Nazareth in 2019. Besides teaching at the middle school, Melissa can be found volunteering as assistant coach for the Gananda Girls Varsity Basketball Team. Melissa Reeves, a 2011 Gananda graduate, is currently in her third year of teaching eighth-grade math at Gananda Middle School. As a high school student, Melissa was a member of both the National Honor Society and National Math Honor Society. As a Blue Panther, Melissa also competed on the softball and basketball teams and earned many honors including softball team MVP in 2011, and being named to both the all-state team in basketball, as well as the Section V all-tournament basketball team. NYS requires students to have Screenings each year... below is the list of screenings and the grade level that it is required... Screenings have already begun for your student, you will be notified if anything tests out of the normal range.
Hearing Screening: Pre K or K; 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 11th grades and all new entrants to the district
Scoliosis Screening: Boys in grade 9 and Girls in grades 5 and 7
Vision Screening (distance and near): Pre K or K; 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 11th and new entrants to the district.

5th Grade Family Fun Night
Attention Fifth Grade Parents
All fifth graders receive a memory book at the end of fifth grade highlighting their years here at Richard Mann Elementary. This book is organized and funded through parents. Our only fundraiser is the annual Family Fun Night which will be held Friday, January 24, 2020 from 6-8 PM. In order to make this night a success, we need ALL parents to help! We will be having a meeting on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 7 PM in the Richard Mann Elementary Library. Many hands make light work! We look forward to seeing you all there!

Proud To Be A Panther Fundraiser and High School Volunteer Opportunity
As a fundraiser, Gananda Dollars for Scholars will be selling these signs for $10 at the following events:
Dec. 4th 5:30/7:00 pm HS Gym Basketball games
Dec. 4th 7:00 pm HS Auditorium 4-6 Winter Concert

They are looking for 2 student volunteers for each time slot and volunteers will get Gananda Dollars for Scholars specific hours! To participate, sign up outside Mrs. Peterson's classroom.

Macedon Community Christmas Program
Gananda Central School District is teaming up with the Annual Macedon Community Christmas Program to help support our local area families in need during this upcoming holiday season. There are various ways to help support our families:
1. Donate Food: Bring in your canned or other non-perishable food items on December 6, 2019. Donations will be accepted in each school building. Ideas for items can be found on our website. Additionally, you can donate food items to the Macedon Food Pantry.
2. Sponsor a Child or Senior Citizen: Contact Heather Keenan directly to get a list of gifts needed.
3. Volunteer: On Tuesday, December 10 volunteers are needed at St. Patrick's Church at 7pm to help organize all of the donations. Additionally, On Saturday, December 14 from 8am-12pm volunteers are needed to help carry bags and boxes out to cars and/or delivery.

Gananda Cheerleading Mini Cheer Camp
Join the Varsity & JV Cheerleaders for our 5th annual Mini Cheer Camp! At camp, they will learn a cheer and short dance that will be performed with the High School Cheerleaders during halftime of the Basketball game on Tuesday, December 10. Camp includes a t-shirt, craft & snack!
