Dublin Jerome High School

Jan. 24, 2020

Good Afternoon!

Even though it was a four day week it was busy and active. Students are well into the second semester and hard at work in their classes. Please note that next week is the fourth week of the quarter and parent-teacher conferences are on the horizon. Please take some time this weekend to discuss and review your child's progress. If you have any questions, concerns or need support, I would encourage you to reach out to their teacher.

I have been out and about in classes and this week and the level of engagement and learning that is going on here in our classrooms is a credit to our teachers and your kids. We are all working hard to help prepare them for success when they leave Jerome and head to their next phase in life. Thank you for sending your child to us each day and trusting us to develop quality learning experiences for them.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Door Dash, Uber Eats, Postmates, etc.

There has been an uptick of food deliveries to Dublin Jerome from the variety of delivery services over the past month and a half. While convenient and awesome (especially when you are craving that Popeye's Chicken sandwich), we are asking that students and families avoid using these services during school hours. We are trying to limit unnecessary disruptions and situations that detract from school-specific needs.

We appreciate your help in helping keep our school safe and running efficiently.

2020-2021 Scheduling Timeline and Materials

On Thursday students received their scheduling materials and watched a video prepared by our school counselors. Next week we will have student advisement in our classrooms. This is a very important time to talk with teachers to help develop a schedule that is the right fit.

During this time of year, we have quite a bit of misinformation about our offerings most specifically peers. Asking questions and feedback will help develop schedules that address the whole child and not just academics. Please ask questions and seek assistance as needed.

Below is the scheduling video and link to the full course handbook. Also below are our dates to share information and answer questions.

In a large and dynamic school district such as Dublin City Schools, it can be difficult for parents to learn about all of the different academic and extracurricular opportunities available for their students.
