Mark's Monday Morning Memo

Mark's Monday Morning Memo
This is my 37th and final Mark's Monday Morning Memo. My goal was to enhance communication, separate my topics from the weekly bulletin information that Jeanne disseminates, and give more details about things happening. I have enjoyed writing this weekly memo and I hope it was informative and helpful to you.
#GoodNewsCallOfTheDay
I will make my 130th #GoodNewsCallOfTheDay on Thursday, June 9, 2016. That is 130 different students I was able to recognize because of my experience with them, something I observed, or from a recommendation by another staff member. I am pleased that I realized my goal of delivering positive messages to parents on behalf of our students. There are other principals across the country that have picked up this and have been making their own positive phone calls home all because last summer I heard about a teacher who made one positive phone call home each day.
Final Day for Licensed Staff
A change in the contract allows licensed staff members to only work a 1/2 day on Friday, June 10, 2016. If licensed staff members have been checked out of your space that Friday and you want to only work a 1/2 day, then your hours would be 8:00-12:00 and you can leave at noon. You may also take the morning off and work 12:00-4:00 if you'd like. You may also work the whole day with everyone needing to be checked out by 4:00 that day.
Thank You
It is bittersweet to think about my next adventure because I am going to miss so many things about working at Rice Lake. I have had the opportunity to visit other schools and I always felt pride in coming back to Rice Lake because of the great work of the staff, students, and families. I will be taking many things with me to my new school that you have taught, influenced, and modeled for me. Thank you for that and thank you for what you do to inspire, engage, develop, mentor, teach, and care for the students of Rice Lake. I wish you best wishes next year and in future years.
