Semester Exams
Fall 2016
It's time to get ready for Exams! Here are some Frequently Asked Questions:
What do we do if we do not have an exam (for example, those students in basketball or a study hall)?
- Basketball players need to get instructions from their coaches. You may have a practice during that exam period.
- Study Hall students are not required to be at school. Parents will need to check their children out and/or in through the high school office. If you would like to stay at school and use the study hall to prepare for another exam, you will simply go to your study hall during that exam period.
- If you have any questions about what to do, please check with the office.
Can we check out as soon as we finish our exam?
- Students will stay in the classroom the entire testing period.
- The intercom and students in the hall will disrupt students working on their exams, so you cannot checkout during a testing period.
- Students are advised to bring something to read or other study materials in case they finish an exam early.
What do we do between exams when there is a 30 minute break?
- All students will go to the cafeteria during the break between exams.
- Mr. Crowder or the Cyber Cafe may be offering some snack or breakfast options, so look for that information to come out if you are interested.
- Students are welcome to bring a snack to eat or drink during the break.
Can we go off campus between exams?
- No. Just like any day, you are not allowed to leave unless a parent checks you out of school.
What do I do if I am sick on the day of the exam?
- Like anytime you are sick, your parents need to call the high school office to let us know you are out sick.
- You or your parents will need to contact the teacher of the exam(s) you miss and set up a time for you to take the exam.
Fall Exam Schedule
Pay attention to exam start and end times of exams!
You can do this!
Everyone stresses when it comes to exams, but a part of life is learning how to deal with stressful situations--deep breaths, exercising, listening to music, reading, etc.
Prepare, Positive Attitude, and Pace Yourself!
Don't rush through a test. You have 1 1/2 hours to take each of your semester exams, so use every bit of time to put your best work forward.
Study, do your best, move on . . .
Once the test is over, do your best to get motivated for the next one. Don't get hung up on the one answer your couldn't remember on the previous test.
