Dear Peabody and Watkins community,

The fun continues! The Peabody Pizza Party was a huge hit! Our blacktop and playground was full of fun-having little ones and caregivers last night. The King Bullfrog band played well past the daily expiration of our littlest learners (always a good, but challenging time). It was great to see the community come together and just have fun. Coming on the heels of the auction and a prelude to the 41st Annual Capitol Hill Classic, community time together feels like it's back and it feels great. Thank you to our parent leaders for supporting these events and all the staff who are participating and enjoying them like I am!

Another way the Cluster Community always shows up is in appreciate for our teachers! Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Our PTA, in collaboration with our leadership team, has planned a full week of treats, appreciation and celebration. Any and all parents are encouraged to just write a note to your child's teachers. Often times, the small notes of kindness stick the most.

One important update: the term 3 reports cards are published and printed. Schools put them in the mail today!

PARCC is back for 3-5 graders for ELA and Math state summative assessments. 5th graders will also take the DC Science assessment. Testing will be complete before Memorial Day.

PARCC is back! Watkins 3rd – 5th graders will take the PARCC ("Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College") assessment - DC's annual math and ELA assessment - again this spring. Please see above for the 3rd – 5th grade testing schedule.

We are asking for your help on and before testing days to support critical aspects of the testing administration! We’d love to have 3-6 caregivers' support on testing days; and 1-2 caregivers' support on prep days. While not necessary, we're hoping that volunteers will sign up for multiple time slots. These are in-school volunteer experiences and you do not need to have a 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade student to volunteer.
