Jamison Journal
Information Update & Welcome Back To School
More Information...Please Read
The purpose of this newsletter is to update you on my previous communication I sent you last week via a narrated PowerPoint. I will try to consolidate some of the most recent information sent to you by the school district and build upon my last update.
In a typical school year, my communication is sent out on specific dates (typically the 1st and 15th of each month). Due to the nature of events this school year, you are seeing multiple forms of information being sent to you every few days. I will try to continue to keep you updated on school and district-wide details without trying to overwhelm you.
As always, if you have a question, please email a staff member at Jamison.
CB Return to School webpage
Below is a link, provided by the school district, that houses a wealth of information (schedules, tips, safety information, return to school articles, etc...)

Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast:
If interested, upon arrival to school, ALL students can receive a free breakfast. It will be of the grab and go variety. Students will take the breakfast directly to the classroom and wait for directions from their teacher. Breakfast, similar to snack, will be directed by the teacher as we need to adhere to the 6ft distancing while eating. Breakfast stations will be set up in the main hallway, on the bottom floor, on both sides of the building.
Lunch:
If interested, ALL students will have the opportunity for a free lunch. It will also be of the grab and go variety but with multiple selections.
- Hot option
- Cold sandwich
- Salad
- PBJ pack
Students will travel through our assigned cafeteria lines (socially distanced) and take their lunch.
For the students in the traditional model, they will eat lunch in the cafeteria / gymnasium spaced 6ft apart. Each student will be given an assigned seat. Prior to and after lunch, students will wash their hands. Lunch tables will be cleaned between each lunch period.
Hybrid students will eat in their classrooms; however, they will also have the same access to the same lunches as the students in the traditional model.
Recess
Students can't bring in their typical recess equipment (balls, bats, etc...) The staff will try to create games that the students can participate in with eliminating any shared materials that would go back and forth. The playground is being divided into multiple stations where specific classrooms will be assigned on a daily basis.
- Recess equipment
- Blacktop
- The walking or running loop
- Grass field area
Mask Breaks
If your child is in need of extra support because the mask is proving to be difficult, our staff will assist the child in working through it by providing a break, perhaps an alternative face covering, or even a "walk" to another safe area in the building.
Technology Devices (charging and transporting)
Cinch Sack / Backpack and what goes inside?
Please do not send in backpacks with wheels. These style of backpacks take up a lot of space.
When your child is returning to school, don't feel the need to place all of your materials/texts from your home to be returned all in one day. Teachers should be reaching out to their classrooms and giving all families an idea of what is essential on the first day of school. Day to day, students should have their device, water bottle, an extra mask, and a snack coming to school. Occasionally, students may bring home a textbook or two from school...it all depends on the class and grade level.

Schedule (9/29 and 9/30)
I wanted to make sure everyone is aware of the schedule for the next few days:
Tuesday:
Tuesday will be an asynchronous (lessons posted online by teacher) day for Traditional and Hybrid students.
Our Virtual students will have an asynchronous morning. After lunch/recess, their teacher will rejoin them in a synchronous fashion (live time).
ALL specials will be asynchronous on 9/29.
Wednesday:
Traditional students will re-enter the building.
Hybrid students will be online (Wednesday) with a combination of synchronous and asynchronous lessons.
Virtual students will follow their typical "online" schedule.
Specials will be asynchronous for Hybrid and Virtual students on 9/30.
Special Schedule
Arrival and Dismissal
Arrival for our Traditional (M-F) and Hybrid (M, T, Th, Fr) students will begin at 8:15AM. Students being driven by car will enter through the main entrance. Bus riders, walkers, and bike riders will enter in grade specific doors from the bus loading platform.
Dismissal:
Dismissal will begin for our Traditional and Hybrid students at 2:15PM. Car Riders will be picked up on the recess lot. Parents can access the recess lot for pick up at 2:10PM. Walkers, bus riders, and bike riders will exit through the bus platform area. If your child is a walker and you like to "pick up" your child for supervising purposes, please wait at the bike rack area until the students exit the building.

Visitor Sign In Procedures
If you have a scheduled in-person appointment at Jamison, please read the guidelines below.
When you arrive at Jamison for a scheduled appointment, please report to the Main Office with a PA License. While visiting, you are required to wear a face covering as outlined in the PA Department of Health’s Order Requiring Universal Face Coverings announced July 1, 2020. You will be required to use a health self-screening tool. You will need to confirm completion of the screening with the building secretary who will then complete the sign in log for you and give you a visitor’s sticker indicating the date, time, and your destination.
Congratulations to our September JET Ticket winners!
