Principal's Note...
At our October school-wide meeting, we talked about the concept of classroom charters that each room has been developing. This activity is part of our social-emotional learning (SEL) initiative, RULER.
A classroom charter outlines how students and staff want to FEEL at school and what they each will do to ensure that they, and others, feel that way. Students presented examples of their class's charter at the meeting. There were some really great ideas and words that were shared. We talked about the first step is putting the words to paper, but the next step is to take action to ensure that the charters are upheld by everyone.
We concluded by reminding the students that my 1 goal for each of them is to be KIND to one another this year (and beyond).
Have a great weekend!
Best,
John

Help Wanted!
We are currently searching to build our substitute pool for the 18-19 school year. Do you know someone locally who has experience working with children in a school setting? Please have them email Mrs. Dodge directly at dodgec@mersd.org and we can take them through the application and screening process. Thanks so much in advance!

Oversight of Children at Evening Sporting Events
MERHS loves spirit at Friday evening sporting events. Games are a wonderful place for the community to come together. We would like to remind parents that there is not specific supervision of children during the game. We request that parents attend evening games with their children (Elemenary and MS Age). We want to make sure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening. Go Hornets!
