Mission
The mission of Giesinger Elementary is to ensure high levels of learning to facilitate continuous growth the of the whole child.
Giesinger Family,
I hope you are enjoying this long weekend and able to find time to do something that you love with family.
As I was visiting recess last week (one of my favorite things to do) I was reminded of the friendships we have on our campus. These sweet girls were braiding each others hair and laughing while making memories. Our staff works hard to teach our kids to read, write, and do math, but they also work hard at nurturing and loving your students so they can show love and show grace with one another. This also comes from the work you do at home and I want you to know you are doing a good job. Thank you for sharing your precious children with us, they make a big difference on our campus.
This week our PTO joins our community in stocking the lounge for our amazing staff this week. We love treating them to snacks and drinks throughout the month and your contributions help. I wish you could see the faces of these men and women when they walk into the lounge to see some fresh treats, like children in a candy store :) . See the flyer below for information.
Join us Friday for our school-wide dance and get your "glow" on. PTO is partnering with Giesinger Elementary to host this event at $20.00 a family. See the flyer below for details and we can't wait to see your dance moves Eagles.
Thank you for your continued support and we will see you Tuesday Eagles.
Sincerely,
Amy Barber
Giesinger Elementary Principal
Lunch Balances
Meals are no longer free for the 2022-2023 school year.
Please check your child's lunch account through Parent Access Center or My School Bucks. We have a large number of students that are accruing balances that need to be taken care of.All families can complete a meal application to see if you may qualify for free and/or reduced lunches. Applying does so much more than support school lunches, see the benefits below, especially if you have older CISD students.
Click here to visit the website to apply.

Morning Drop Off
Our doors open as early as 7:15 to receive students. At 8:00 am, instruction for our campus begins and our front porch staff has to come off duty to begin their instructional day.
Please make plans to have your child dropped off in that 45-minute window that we open our doors to 8:00. Children that arrive when our doors close at 8:00 will have to wait in the front office for a tardy pass before going to class. There is no supervision on the front porch after that time either.
The last few weeks we have seen an increase in tardies and students are missing the part of our day that drives our interventions and enrichment times, Eagles Time, from 8:00-8:30. Every minute counts!
Thank You Families for Donating to the School Store
We had another successful week at our school store and it is thanks to you!
Our students are able to redeem the tickets they have worked so hard for and shop at our Eagle Shopping Network.
Click the link below to help us restock our store from our Amazon Wish List.
Art Fundraiser Starts Ends this Week
Our art fundraiser ends on October 14th. These make great keepsakes to treasure forever while raising money for our art program led by Mrs. Matthews. The packets went home last week.
October - Dyslexia Awareness Month
October is Dyslexia Awareness Month. Please join the Conroe ISD Dyslexia Department for an evening of information and support for our students with dyslexia and dysgraphia.
I hope to see you on Monday, October 17th at the Dyslexia Parent Information Night!
Thanks,
Mrs. Payne
Reading/Dyslexia Interventionist, Giesinger Elementary
October Food Drive - CEREAL
The food drive collection begins this week for our October Food Drive.
Please send cereal this week. Grade levels will collect these items in boxes at the end of the hallways.
Attendance Matters
Our campus goal is 97%
It is important that your child is at school each day unless they are sick. In the event your child does have to miss school for this, be sure to email their teacher and our registrar, Robin Rickwalt (rrickwalt@conroeisd.net) so the absence is correctly coded. Provide doctors notes when applicable.
CISD Police & Coats for Kids
Our campus will support the CISD Police Department and Coats for Kids Drive. If you are able to donate new or gently used (clean) coats to this cause, a collection bin will be in the front office/porch area. Thank you for your help in supporting this great cause that benefits our community.
Registering in CISD does NOT give you a PAC account.
