Israeli Day Parade- Join KYLS!
Dear Parents,
This year, KYLS is excited to be marching in the Israeli Day Parade with KYHS on Sunday, June 4th.
The Israel Day Parade is the single largest pro-Israel rally every year. Usually there are about 20,000 marchers. Schools, shuls, youth groups and other organizations march to show their support for the State of Israel. The march is down 5th Ave in Midtown Manhattan.
Kohelet Yeshiva is providing transportation, t-shirt, and pizza for all students and families at a reduced cost:
$25 per person with a maximum of $100 per family if you are taking the bus
$10 per person if you are not taking the bus
Please consider the following when deciding if you and your child should march:
Each student from KYLS must be accompanied by his/her parent.
The march often involves waiting for extended periods, limited bathroom facilities, challenging weather (ie: hot, rainy, cold), the march is from 57th-74th street (usually takes about 1 hour to march the route, about 2 miles), and the bus ride is about 2-3 hours each way.
Strollers are not allowed in the parade.
If you want to join but don’t think marching will work, you are welcome to use the Kohelet Yeshiva transportation (at the same cost of $25 per person) and join the parade as a spectator, cheer on Kohelet Yeshiva and meet the group at the end of the parade.
The bus will be leaving Kohelet Yeshiva High School at 9 am and returning to school around 5 pm. PLEASE NOTE: These times may change when we receive our marching time closer to the parade date.
Please RSVP for the Parade by May 10 by clicking HERE. We can only guarantee a parade t-shirt or transportation for RSVPs received before May 11th.
Looking forward to having you join us as a spectator or a marcher with your child!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Becky Troodler
Principal
PARENTS NEEDED FOR GALA VIDEO
As you know, our Day of Giving and Day of Giving Gala are soon approaching on June 13-14. As in past years, we will be creating several videos about our school to present before and during the event.
We, together with our videographer, Mr. Josh Gold, would love your input about what makes Kohelet Yeshiva Lab School truly powerful and unique for you and your family. We would really appreciate if you could take 1-2 minutes today to complete this survey with your thoughts about your, and your child/ren's, experience with KYLS.
Please let us know if you have any questions and again, we are really grateful for your help!
Shabbat Shalom,
