Principal's Message
WOW! I can't believe it is December already. We have had a great first semester and we want to finish strong. With the busy holidays upon us, many of you are preparing for family events, shopping and taking advantage of many holiday festivities. While this is a very busy time for us all, please make sure that your student(s) have a regular routine for completing homework and/or projects and adhering to a regular bed time schedule. This will help each student be prepared, focused and well rested for the school day.
Our annual Holiday Luncheon was a huge success! This year we had over 300 parents, grandparents, siblings, and other family members attend the luncheon. The families were excited to see their family pictures scrolling on the screen during the event. Pictures of the event will be posted on the school website soon.
As we move into the holiday season, this is a great time to reflect on our blessings and think of ways to impact others. Volunteering at shelters, donating to local charities, or just reaching out to a neighbor or friend in need are simple ways to show our love and support for others.
Thank you for your continued support! Have a safe and blessed holiday season and New Year.

Mrs. Deborah Bridges - for organizing and decorating for the Holiday Luncheon! Excellent job as usual.
Lisa Mills - for creating the beautiful Holiday Luncheon powerpoint to celebrate our Partee families.
Mr. Harris - for assuming the new position of Local School Photographer during the luncheon and for assisting during car rider duty.
Mr. Bradley and Mr. Thornton - for jumping in and helping with bus call on a COLD day. They didn't know it could be so much fun. :-)
Mr. Leath - for his dedication to mentoring select students at Partee ES.
All Pro Dads - for covering lunch duty for the teacher's on Friday, November 30! Thank you for always being willing to jump in and help.
Mr. Donald Harris and Ms. Jennifer Bower - for their EXCELLENT math presentation during Math Night. It was great information to assist parents with helping their children at home.
Season's Greetings from the Parent Center
Where did this year go? As we move towards a new year lets remember the reason for the season. Volunteers are always needed throughout the building! Lots of resources can be found in the Parent Center to support learning at home. Please stop by the Parent Center so you can help your student(s). We look forward to seeing more of you in 2019! Feel free to call if I can help with anything 678-344-4410.

PTA Update
As the proud principal of Partee ES, it is my desire to develop a strong and successful PTA at our school. I have been working closely with Mr. Bradley, former PTA Co-President, and the Area PTA Board to develop a plan to train and elect a PTA Board that will work in partnership with the school for many years to come.
Since we are now in the month of December, we would like to take the next few months to provide an overview of PTA and the expectations of each officer for those who would like to run for office for the 2019-2020 school year. We would like to offer two overview sessions, January 26 and February 23, for anyone who is interested in serving the staff and students at Partee ES on the PTA Board or as a dedicated member of the PTA.
The information covered during these sessions will provide you with detailed information regarding PTA Board member's roles and responsibilities and share ways that you can support the school as a general member of the PTA. This will assist you with making a better informed decision regarding running for office during the spring elections.
If you are interested in learning more about serving on the Partee PTA, please RSVP for one of the two informational sessions using the following link: https://goo.gl/forms/8hCxxl7RaRIf7t033
Mr. Everton "EJ" Blair - AREA IV Board Member
Our newly elected Board Member, Everton "EJ" Blair, will fill the seat previously held by Dr. Robert McClure, who has served on the Board since 1995. Dr. McClure decided not to run for re-election this year.
Mr. Blair will be sworn in on Thursday, December 20, 6:30 at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center. He makes history as the first African American and the youngest person to serve on the GCPS Board of Education. His is also a Shiloh HS 2009 graduate! Go GENERALS!
Please join us in celebrating this historic moment by attending the ceremony on December 20.

Student Attendance
The cold weather is settling in and we are heading towards cold and flu season. Please be sure that your student is dressed properly each when waiting outside in the elements for the bus. We want to do everything we can to ensure the good health of the students.
With sniffles and fevers spreading from time to time we realize that some students may require an extra day at home to rest, recuperate and/or medicate. Please be aware that each time your child is absent from school a written excuse is required. You may send a hand written note, send an email to the teacher, a dojo message or a doctor’s excuse. If you forget to provide a written excuse a reminder note will be sent home with your student and you may write your excuse on that.
All absences will be recorded as unexcused in the system until the school receives a valid written excuse. Please help us to record your child’s absences accurately.
