Reptile Review
January 2024
Welcome Back!
Hi Reptile Families,
Welcome back! We have had a great first week back to school. Our teachers have been reviewing our expectations of Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible with our students and we are ready for a great second semester.
Our staff has been looking at mid-year data from the assessments students took in December. Grade levels are making action plans and looking at forming small groups to make sure that all of our students are receiving the enrichment and support that they need to be successful.
Report cards will be released on the Parent Portal on Tuesday, January 16th. Please make sure that you review these with your student and reach out to your child's teacher with any questions. Having your child read at home and log their minutes on Beanstack, practice Lexia at home, and work on math facts is a great way to support their learning at school.
We have a Family Literacy Night on January 25th, as well as the Book Fair. We also will have a New Family Breakfast on January 30th. Please look through the newsletter for more information about these events and ways to be involved. We look forward to seeing you in the new year!

Welcome back Reptiles! We are starting off the New Year with our Field Day shirts on sale January 17!! You can access instructions at www.pasco.k12.fl.us/acor. or send in money/check with the form coming home with your student Jan. 17. Please show your school spirit and help support our Reptile Run program by buying a Field Day T-shirt !! We are expecting over two hundred students to earn a free shirt in May. Those reptiles have really been running and getting fit. Many have already finished twenty miles! Field Day will be Friday, March 15th. Look for volunteer forms coming home in February.
The Fun Run Club is in full swing, with over 150 members running before school on Mondays. We will finish our season in May with a mile Fun Run. We have some very dedicated runners that run over two miles every Monday morning.
Music News
This month, all grade levels will be learning about rhythms through singing, instruments, and movement.
3rd Grade - We are about to begin our recorder unit! Look for a flyer to come home about how to purchase a recorder for your student.
Spring Orff & Chorus auditions will be held at 9:10am on 1/16 & 1/17, respectively. This is for students who did not participate in Orff (4th-5th graders) or Chorus (3rd-5th graders) last semester and would like to join. If your student is already in Orff or Chorus and wants to continue, they do NOT need to come to the audition dates. We will resume regular rehearsals the following week (1/23 & 1/24).
Parent Portal
Please also make sure that you have completed your child's Parent Bill of Rights, which can be accessed through the Parent Portal. It is important that parents acknowledge and declare in writing whether they want their student to participate in various educational opportunities and related activities, and whether their students may be provided healthcare and other services available to them.
You can find more information about the Parent Bill of Rights and the Parent Portal at the following website: https://www.pasco.k12.fl.us/oll_documents/parent-bill-of-rights.If you need help creating or logging in to your account, please call our front office at 813-346-0500.
