Intro
The Medieval times or The Middle Ages was 500 to 1500 A.D. It was a big time in history because during that time, people invented things that we still use today. They also had to suffer through a hideous and deadly disease. Now learn how the roman empire fell and how a new empire took over.
Life in the Medieval times
After the roman empire fell and a Renaissance began a community. During the medieval times the most people did was fine till the Black Plague struck them and killed at least one-third of the people. This lead to other poor people to become a merchant and get other better jobs. According to http://www.lordsandladies.org/ in villages they had one room houses and their important buildings was a parish church and sometimes a blacksmith house. Also http://www.lordsandladies.org/daily-life-in-the-middle-ages.htm and http://jenkinsmiddleages.weebly.com/feudal-system.html identified that there was a system (The Feudal System) to determine if you were in a low class or a high class. The lowest class was the peasants. Next was the Knight, they were the third group class and they fought to keep and get land from nobles or lords. Next was the nobles they were people that were holders of land by permission from the king or queen. Last of all was, of course, the kings and queens
Jobs and Activities
When most people think of Medieval times they think of knights in full armor or a king or queen. Back in the Medieval times there was many jobs that you could be. Some jobs like blacksmith was a very important. If you were a blacksmith then you would have to make weapons and armor for the knights on the battlefield. They also had to heat/melt down the metal to soften it and then to shape it to the desired weapon. Another job that was important back then was the king/queen's position. If you were the king or queen you didn’t just to sit around and let your servants feed you grapes. Instead if you were a king you would have to decide if you fought with a empire or a group of people. According to http://www.thefinertimes.com/Middle-Ages/queens-in-the-middle-ages.html If you were a queen you had to help and support the king and had to produce a male heir to later take over his father's place. Some of the many activities you could do/attend was jousting, hunting, animal entertainment (using dogs, bears, and monkeys), and etc. #
Challenges and Success
http://www.history.com/topics/middle-ages desribed that one of the biggest challenges that they had to face was the Black Plague (The Bubonic Plague) which killed at least one-third of the people in Europe. Most of their successes was inventions like the crossbow, spinning wheel, printed press, and water mills. These inventories help us today like the print press by printing or newspaper and
the windmill which then was created to a make electricity through wind power. They also created quarantine zones to the people that had the plague. Very smart for people back then because they didn’t have medicine and it could have saved man.(Conclusion) The End
So for the medieval time I think it was an important time in history. Such as the crossbow for hunting and print press for our newspaper. It also showed us how deadly a disease was and how they handled it using quarantine. Lastly it showed us how people from a fallen kingdom was able to establish a kingdom for them self.
