CAMP FOLSOM-- TOP SECRET
First Grade is going “camping!” In order to make the last week of school (May 31st- June 2nd) extra special, we will be transforming our first grade classrooms into campsites! Your child will be packing up their school belongings (except for school supply/art box) on Thursday, May 26th. When they return to school after the Memorial Day weekend our classroom “camp” will be in full effect!
We are planning many fun activities centered around the camp theme. One that is sure to be a favorite is a daily a “mail call”, where we will deliver letters to the students that have been sent from home. We are asking that you please write a letter (or several) to your child as if they were really away at camp and mail it to the school on or before May 23rd so it has time to arrive. Ask Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, friends and loved ones to send letters too! Please address the letter as follows:
c/o Teacher’s Name
800 Somerville Dr.
Prosper, TX 75078
*No care packages please! Just good, old-fashioned letters!
To make this week as fun and memorable as possible, we need a few other things from you also! Please click the link below to sign up for items that you would be willing to donate to our First Grade Camp experience.
We will also need the items listed below. Please let your child’s teacher know if you have any of these items that we can borrow for the week:
*Tents (any size)
*flashlights (one per student)
* Please clearly label all items with your child’s name so that they may be returned!!
Please arrange to secretly drop off items at the front office between Monday, May 23rdand Thursday, May 26th. Please also make arrangements to pick up all items after school on Thursday, June 2nd.
Thank you so much for helping make this a memorable time for your child!

Karate Belt Math BLUE BELT
We have been working on the "Counting back” strategy. I am attaching the Blue Belt flash cards we are using in class. Encourage them to explain how they used the strategy.
I hope you enjoy helping your student prepare for this at home. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Please use the attached documents to work on these concepts at home.
Thank you for your help!
