Eagle Update
6th-9th Parent Newsletter - November
Thankful
As we enter the month of November it is important to remember to be thankful. It is easy to get caught up in the business of life and forget to stop and take in the moments. I challenge each family to commit to posting 1 thing you are thankful for each day leading up to Thanksgiving. Share with me or the school by posting on our Facebook page!
Article on Helping Students with Math in Middle School
Importance of Parental Involvement
"Students with parents who are involved in their school tend to have fewer behavioral problems and better academic performance, and are more likely to complete high school than students whose parents are not involved in their school."

Put First Things First
Work...then play. This is difficult for students and let's face it...adults too! Often as students get older and take on extracurricular activities, this becomes a dilemma. Students will forgo academics to focus on the activities. Sometimes I have to remind myself of this as well.

My name is Crystal Hunter and I teach 6th grade E.L.A.R. /Social Studies. I have been in education for 16 years. If you hear someone singing in the halls, it's probably me!!! I grew up in Los Angeles, California and moved to Texas 7 years ago. In my spare time I love to do zumba, read, and hang out with friends and family. One of my favorite pastimes is going to different coffee shops around DFW and reading a good book. I love God, family, people, church, music, teaching, and working at TLCA!! GO EAGLES!!!
Staff Spotlight- Brooke "Layne" Hight
My name is Brooke Hight! I am a 6th grade math and science teacher, off season coach, and cheerleading sponsor! In my free time, I love to watch Indianapolis Colts football, bowl, and hang out with my family. I believe I was truly placed at TLCA to take part in these students lives. One saying I live by, "In a world where you can be anything, Be Kind."
