Titan Tidbits - Parents
Week 31: March 30-April 3, 2020
General Announcements:
Titan Families,
Well, it's been an interesting couple of weeks and we've all survived Week 2!!! If you're like me... it feels like longer... I too am navigating that work/parenting balance. It's hard! I want to continue encouraging you to connect with your child and think about what it is that you want them to remember from this experience. It's not the eLearning lessons you taught, it's the time you spent together as a family that will creating lasting memories. If you have questions or need help your child's teacher is a great resource. We are all in this together and while that doesn't solve all the day-to-day happenings and hardships, it makes me feel a smidge better! We are Titans, we are tough... WE ARE TITAN TOUGH!
Please stay safe and know we all miss you!
Brigitte Wagner
We miss YOU!!

Update on eLearning:
INFORMATION ON ELEARNING FROM FMSD: Our district administration, along with our schools and principals, have finalized the schedule for the next steps in our eLearning program. We will continue to use the materials provided during the initial phase of eLearning until we reach the Spring Break holiday, April 4 - 13.
The district will observe Spring Break, as we traditionally do, to allow a much needed break for our students, parents and staff. This new way of learning, coupled with the stresses caused by the situation in our nation, have been overwhelming for some families. We believe this break will give everyone a chance to reset, rest and prepare to resume the eLearning process following the break.
The eLearning schedule is as follows:
March 25 through April 3 – Continue to work on assigned material and lessons
April 4 through April 13 – Spring Break
April 16 and April 17 – Packet pickup at your school for students without access to digital tools at home.
April 16: 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
April 17: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Students can continue to return completed work electronically to their teacher. Students completing paper assignments should keep their work until we return to school or until alternative instructions are determined.
Our teachers continue to be available to help students with questions and the district continues to remain flexible throughout the eLearning process. Any future changes or new information will be communicated as soon as it becomes available.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we have implemented and extended this new program. Please visit www.fortmillschools.org for answers to frequently asked questions regarding eLearning and the most up-to-date information on school closures.

US Census:
The first census was conducted in 1790, and it continues every decade. A “complete count” is important for our state and for York County. Billions of federal dollars (over $675 Billion!) are allocated based on census data and will be allocated for the next 10 years. In 2010, nearly 1 million children under the age of 5 were not counted. This year’s census will be ground-breaking in several ways, but mainly for the additional ways that households can complete the census. This year, a household will be able to complete the census online or via telephone in addition to the traditional mail options. The online and phone options will hopefully make completion more convenient for all involved and result in a more accurate count. In mid-March, homes across the country will begin receiving invitations to complete the 2020 census. Once your invitation arrives, you should respond for your home either online, by phone, or by mail. Watch for more information as we approach Census Day on April 1, 2020!
