Education Foundation: Angie Arthur
The Coppell Education Foundation awards grant money to CISD teachers each year in the fall. We love surprising teachers with a large check and capturing that look on their face when we arrive. If you have submitted an application in the past, but have not been awarded grant money, we want to help you. Join us for a Professional Development all about GRANT WRITING.
The first training date is September 8 from 4:00-5:30 at Austin Elementary
The second training date is September 10 from 4:15-5:45 at CMS West Library.
The grant submission window opens on September 14 and closes on October 14 at 5:30 PM.
Mike's Mind
A huge thank you to all CHS staff for an outstanding start to our school year. It seems like a whirlwind of activity since the first day of classes! Remember that Monday is a school holiday, Labor Day. With a three day weekend ahead, my hope is that you have plans to do something fun that fuels your personal passions. It remains very important for all staff to lead a balanced lifestyle in order to be able to sustain the incredible effort it takes to lead our very talented students.
The initial adrenaline we all typically start the year with will soon wane, but it remains our charge to live up to our campus theme, One School, One Family! That requires each of us to do our part to strengthen our climate (how we feel about our school) and culture (how we do our business) in which everyONE is valued and can find a place in our large school. Some activities we each can do:
We Are One Wednesdays- greet students by name at your classroom door
Be proactive in supporting students experiencing difficulties in your class- offer tutorial help, contact their parent, more frequent checks during class
Stay off our devices in the hallways and common areas in order to interact with students and other staff members (the art of speaking to each other)

Save the Date- College Night!
This is a great opportunity for learners to visit with College Representatives from over 200 colleges and universities.
